We SHOULD have the mimimum wage (only it should be spelled SMALL WAGE as I find all those I's and M's too tricky to deal with), in fact we should make everyone have it and then the whole country is equal.

Politicians should also have it and not complain any more about the fact they can't afford luxury car # 5...

cars btw should be priced just above the SMALL wage so people can afford them.

America should NOT spread peace and demorcracy and should in fact become more isolationist than it is already.

The word 'isolationist' should be spelled 'alone' for reasons previously mentioned

What are you??? A frickin' commie? Controling wages of anyone is just so against anything America stands for. I'm even against restrictions on lobbying; if politicians need to earn some extra money to afford bigger cars, well good for them (as long as their cars are American-made). If they take money from such great patriots as Abramoff, good; America as the only true capitalist nation needs more investment on K-street.

Keeping wages low, while laudable as such, is not the government's job, but should depend on the forces of the market. If people want a job, they'll just have to deal with the fact that wages are low and if they go on strike they should just be banned from society.

I do like you suggestion to replace isolationist with alone, but I think it is nuclear weapons which America should have alone. Nuke all the other nations with nukes!

This thread is about the lowest of the low. Arguing an opposing viewpoint is totally easy, unless you take the difficult road of the one-sentence statement. If all you liberals had only one little morsel of brain, you would realize how wrong you are.

No no - America needs to become the tree-hugging peacenik of the world. We should bulldoze some cities - especially LA - and plant trees!

Gun laws need to be abolished immediately and all the troops be given new jobs as farmers - to ensure world peace and crops for all.

Anyone not driving a hummer should just go back to whereever they came from even if their family has been in the country since the Mayflower. Real Americans show real muscle, and a Ford Excursion or any other non-Hummer SUV is just too gay!

Climate control is just another of those socialist ideas to deny Americans their freedom. If those Euroids want to be all tree-huggers, that's their tough luck. The less oil and other energy resources they use the better for us. But if they keep making a stink we'll just have to bring true freedom and democracy back to Europe.

Turning troops into farmers is a travesty, but I agree that we need more farmers. How about putting the inner-city youth to work the land, it will turn them into productive members of society.

As for the rest - American products are sub-standard, over-priced tat, pushed onto an already over-saturated, falsely inflated home market fr no other reason than profit and greed; they should all buy things from the WORLD market and not be so 'alone' in their thinking. If Americans spent their wages (alas not yet universally 'small wages' ) on imports then that would boost world economy (see another example of Americans thinking too small globally).

Inner city youth working farms would be the travesty (OT - damn you make it hard to keep arguing!! )- most have no idea how to SPELL 'farm never mind work on one.

As for your Beatles comments - another example of not knowing real class when it falls on you.

Sources are for the arrogant who can't think for themselves. How dare you insult American craftmanship? Everything coming from the US is not only bigger but also better; thinking otherwise is un-American. Tarrifs are a great invention because they keep the American market American, and if those Mexican sugar-producers want to sell their product they just need to work harder to compete. Who cares? This is about our freedom! The world economy will be led to freedom by our might not by our support of their socialist economies.

Their was a time when America lacked culture, namely in the 1960s when we fell victim to those flower-children overly influenced by inferior cultures from around the world, mainly the UK and India. But after realizing that the true American self was sold in that decade to the corrupted influences of tolerance and understanding and that horrible rhythmic music from the American ghettoes, we're now back on the road of cultural recovery. Just look at that great patriotic song written by former attorney general John Ashcroft or the intrinscally beautiful songs composed by real Americans everywhere. If only we could somehow get rid of those horrific canvasses painted by those dangerous elements like Jackson Pollock...

Your idea of personal freedom is an illusion - sold to you by corrupt politicians who have their own agendas - to buy into the so-called American dream is to admit you are easily fooled by dollar signs. Any time the Americans do anything on the world stage, they use it an excuse to trick the sheep of America into politcal sleight of hand on the home economy front.

Big taxes coming? Have a war and divert attention - bill is passed and oh no too late to object what a shame.

Homeland security is an example of big brother being slid in under the door - your so-called freedoms are being eroded before your very eyes - let's not even get into the search and seizure laws and how they can be applied to anyone - without trial or appeal - should the govt so decide. The laws are already in place - and they can tie up your life forever if they wish.

America is not the land of the free..it is becoming however the land of the tricked.

Never! "Give me liberty or give me death" as Patrick Henry once said. Personal freedom, even in its corporative form, is the end-all-and-be-all for all American people. The patriot act is just another attempt of the liberal left to undermine our rights! As are all forms of taxation.

To finance the duty of providing freedom and democracy to the rest of the world, especially those nations willing to buy our goods, we should fall back on our principles of capitalist free-market competition. Why not have American companies support the troops through advertising? There's a lot of empty space on every tank and humvee.

So you don't agree with taxes eh? If we all had 'mall wages' taxation would be pointless I agree, however until we do, I think the govt will use it as a means of financing more and more ways to insert themselves into your life.

The Liberal Left are one of the few reasons America hasn't attempted world domination - peace, love, trees and stop those hydro-carbon emissions before its too late!

There is no global warning; it only exists in anti-American propaganda. The liberal left is the reason why America goes from one recession into the next, as are the taxes on everything. A capitalist country should be running exclusively on money made from advertising. Just look at all the unused space in DC that could be plastered with advertisement. Too much white space...
