here is the reason for K visas hitting the backside. thsi article says 2.5 million petitions were filed by immigrants for immigrant benefits to beat the fee increase. Everything from International adoptions to naturalization and other benefits. all these get priority over family based visas.

its so backed up they they are sayign its a year wait for them now.

wonder how long the family based visas will take.

I am so thankful that I am finished with USCIS for now. Hopefully AOS goes quicker than the K1 process. At least my fiancee will be here while we wait.

USCIS knew they were going to be hit with a mass number of filings but did nothing to prepare for it, other than to raise their fees. What a joke!!

So are both of these articles directly affecting K1 & K3's then?

I see it is for green cards & naturalization. This is all handled by same department of homeland?

My Fiancée and I applied early to beat the the pay increase. We actually received the receipt pretty quickly and we were becoming excited that soon we'd be getting owrd about our papers...

This is really hard to swallow...

- July 24th, 2007. K-1 Application sent to USCIS

- July 31st, 2007. Package received by USCIS.

- August 6th, 2007. We got our receipt number.

- December 5th, 2007. APPROVED!!! NOA2 Sent to my fianceé's home. WOOOT!!!!!!

- January 1st, 2008. Received NOA2.

- January 10th, 2008. Received my NOA2.

- January 17th, 2008. Interview and accepted. GOT MY K-1 VISA!!!!!!!!

- February 8th, 2008.Traveled to Erie, Pennsylvania.

- MARCH 22nd, 2008. GOT MARRIED TO MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE!!!!!

- April 24th, 2008. Sent my I-485 and I-765 applications to the Pittsburgh field office.

- April 28th, 2008. received my NOA1's for both applications and my Biometrics appointment notification.

- May 8th, 2008. Biometrics appointment.

- June 1st or 2nd, 2008. Sent corrected papers for my Adjustment of Status.

- June 4th, 2008. Touched
