REV. JACKSON ANNOUNCES FORECLOSURE MARCH ON WALL STREET IN DECEMBER

CHICAGO, IL (November 10, 2007) Rev. Jackson is calling for a march/rally to Wall Street in New York City on December 10, 2007, to put pressure on the corporate community to address the needs of Americans who have been devastated by the foreclosure crisis.

“Two million homes nationwide will be at risk of foreclosure by 2008,” Rev. Jackson said. “We need restructure to avoid these foreclosures. Without it, the country is bound to go into recession.”

Rainbow PUSH placed a spotlight on the harmful impact of predatory lending practices and those who might be affected by the subprime market at the Wall Street Project Economic Summit in January 2007. At that time, the organization called for congressional hearings to address the crisis. Last month Rev. Jackson and a delegation traveled to six cities in Michigan to address the foreclosure crisis around the nation. Since then he has been to Atlanta and Los Angeles meeting with homeowners affected by the crisis.
