Hello to all fellow visa awaiters! What an exciting (but long) journey we are on eh?

Just said bye to my fiancee yesterday as I relocated to the US from Malaysia, she is now back in Manila awaiting the good word from the Embassy there.

Couple of questions for you good filks out there:

I sent in the I-134 and the Bio along with the I-129 to the CA office, now on the way to New Hampshire (nothing from them yet..).

In the I-134 packet I included bank statements, letter of employment, 2 years 1040 and so on.

Since i sent the AOS and Bio with the whole, will my darling have to have an I-134 with her or will the embassy already have it? I would think the Embassy would have it she will not need it? Am i correct?

Also, does anybody have the details on what is invloven in the medical exam?

Thanks guys! AYOS!

I believe that you will have to send all the I-134 stuff again. Even if they do send it with your petition to the embassy you want to have all that information dated as close to the interview as possible. To be on the safe side I would resend it.

No idea about what the medical involves but I am sure someone else will come along who has some insight

Good luck :)

I-134 is not sent to USCIS with the original I-129F petition, it is sent to fiancee to take to visa interview, USCIS will discard the I-134 because it is not specified in by the directions included with I-129F.

Read carefully the financial requirements from the consulate:

k. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. Submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included. A completed I-134 Affidavit of

Support Form will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you.

The directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

  • I-134 signed and notarized.

  • SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

  • Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

  • Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

  • Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

YuandDan,

Thank you so much for the information although it was not exactly what i wanted to hear. The person and th USCIS office in Memphis instructed me to send the I-134 and supporting documents along witht the I-129. So much for that..

At least i have time get the documents in order and sent in time for her interview. We have been living together in Malaysia for 2 years, i left her on Friday.. very difficult to be apart now.

Thanks again for your excellent advice!

hi the medical exam in had in england involvced the following.

1. Chest x-ray

2. Blood test (for the HIV virus i think)

3. A quick eye test

4. They check your height and weight

5. They check your lymph nodes

6. you fill in a questionnaire about your health history, and hospital visits require additional information

7. Then they basically just have a look at the rest of you i guess to ensure you have no skin infections, obvious std's etc i guess.

Hope this heps you, good luck with the process!
