Thanks for any advice.

I read that the USCIS only requires one year of financial history now, instead of the three years, but the forms still reflect 3 years of income history.

What is the requirement??? anyone know??

The Consulate in Madrid kept all my porevious records for the I-134 during Margo's interview, and I dont think Ill ever see that info again.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

desert_fox,

One year of tax history for adjustment of status.

Why won't you ever see your I-134 materials again? You did make a copy of any original documents before you submitted them, didn't you?

However, the sponsor may file the three most recent returns if the sponsor believes that the additional returns will make it more likely that the Form I-864 will be found to be sufficient.

I was wondering about this too. I recall reading somewhere that only 1 year of tax history was required now for AOS applications, but the I-864 instructions still mention 3 years. Can someone point me to where it is written that only 1 year is required now?

It's the subject of an InterOffice Memo dated November 23, 2005. Ewok pinned it in the Adjustment of Status Forum. I think it is called New I-864 requirements, or something.

The letter is available on the USCIS homepage under "Whats NEW".

The Consulate in Madrid kept my original W-2's. Now I find that I dont even need them for filing the I-864. Ill just send them 3 years of tax transcripts.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.
