I'm going to get my husband to write to his congresswoman once this is all over. He'll complain about how much worse Montreal is than other US consulates.

We submitted our I-130 in mid Sept., 2009! And we still probably have months to go

It's totally lame that no one, that we are aware of anyway, got interviews this late in May - I thought the board would start lighting up. Mind you they can still approve tonight, over the weekend and into next week; BUT here were are in the 2nd week and it's friday and NOTHING.

This calls for an extreme case of

I called NVC and got confirmation that we were NOT scheduled for June due to the limited capacity of the Embassy blah blah blah , limited capacity. Well checking the VJrs we have two or three in May and three in June..wow that should put it at the top.

So for Married2009, Bwoo, and FireRay, I guess we wait for July, unless of course you guys got notice for June interviews.

I was hoping for June but thought it might be an outside chance of that. I guess it'll be 3 months. Let's at least hope for July

It seems like other people have had a very quick approval through the NVC with electronic processing. We had bad luck and got an erroneous RFE 3 weeks ago and we are still waiting for a supervisor to review the case. I'm sure we would be NVC approved by now and waiting for our interview date if it wasn't for this silly mistake!

Yes, it is very frustrating. Hopefully (praying, actually) that we hear something no later than the first week of June, so we can schedule the plane tickets and the medical.

Whom should we complain to? That's totally a valid question. I personally had been planning to complain (or have my husband complain) to his congresswoman. Anyone have other ideas?

Oh, and another beef I have: Why are marriage/ family-based visas such an apparently low-class visa? They keep telling us they're processing things as fast as they can, blah, blah, blah...but I *know* work-based visas are treated much differently; they're elligible for expedite, etc., etc. If I'd really understood this state of affairs, I just would have made sure to get a job offer that could get me an H1b.

Good point, Trailmix!

But...then there's another thing to complain about (as I think a previous poster noted): Why do the NVC operators seemingly just make stuff up half the time? We dial that number over and over to get through...then wait on hold...then just get told either non-information (I mean obvious stuff, or info that's on the AVR) or just made-up stuff!

I do sort of have a sense of humor about this...but the further along my pregnancy gets, the more impatient I get.
