IR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview

I called yesterday and was told the usual, they are scheduling for Montreal now until the 15th. Now indication on how many they'll schedule of course. It's just sit, wait and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck to us all.

Guess what! I called this morning like I do everymorning and the lady whom I spoke with said WE HAVE AN INTERVIEW!!!

YeeHawwww!!!! She even said the letter was mailed out yesturday. Our Interview is February 1, 2010. Now in Oct we got scheduled and then our date was removed and this morning the (lady who was very very nice.) explained to me that Montreal did that to a few people because they were so backlogged and this one should not change seeing as they have mailed out the letter.

Well since this thread has been open, the longest waits were in 2007 (as I mentioned one time, I think the reason given was staffing shortages):

djc 228 11/30/07

kaftar 204 11/16/07

pororoca 203 11/16/07

Right after that things started to pick up - the days between NVC and interview went down to around a 2-3 month wait (starting around December 2008).

Then in early 2009 the wait time started to get longer, with many waiting 4 months.

So while we were informed a few months ago (when was that September? October?) that there were staffing shortages, I suspect that started early last year and there obviously hasn't been much improvement.

By the way, Americana...WestJet is having a Seat Sale right now. Probably a better bet than Air Canada for your flight. I did a quick check on what flights are costing to Montreal last night, and it looks like it's only $450 after taxes from this area. Much better than the $700 it was before Christmas...
