The hotel on Place Phillips down the block from the consulate is reputed to be pretty good. There's always the Queen Elizabeth Hotel right next to Gare Centrale if you don't mind spending a bit more for a room.

I'm pretty familiar with downtown Montreal, so throw some questions at me and I hopefully should be able to answer them.

I was all afraid I was going to be alone on my interview date till I popped in here and saw Dalene will be there the same day as me!!

We are currently staying at the Les Suites Labelle, it has contental breakfast every morning, internet and a kitchenette. Cost us $61 /US for each night. We did the walk today and took us 15 mins to walk to the consulate. There is also an IGA that is close and the staff are super friendly. The metro is just across the street. I highly recommend it! =D

ok....not happy... I called DOS a couple of weeks ago and they stated our interview was nov. 18 at 9:00 am. I called them this morning because I haven't recieved an email or anything in the mail in regards to our interview. The lady I talked to this morning said we indeed are not scheduled yet. yeah....I am a little upset...ALOT UPSET. I thought something was a little off when I emailed montreal a couple of times since that phone call and they haven't respond. We have the time booked off work and everything to go. I am definitely praying DOS made an error this morning and we in fact do have an interview. hmmmm. I could cry right now but I'm at work so I can't do that. Talk about pulling at your heart strings. I now know what it is like to find out you won the lottery and 5 minutes later finding out one number is wrong......OK ALL BETTER NOW HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.

I called like 2 weeks ago and the lady was really nice and gave me an interview date when I called she asked for our case number put me on hold came back asked me to verify the name and then said our interview was Nov. 18 at 9:00am. I only called this morning because i havent recieved anything in the mail and I've emailed them two times with no reply except the generic auto reply. I thought I would call them just to find out about how long it takes to recieve the letter or email and the lady asked me for our case # and the name and came back and said there is no interview date but we are in line to get it. The lady was really nice and said she couldnt understand it either. She said it was odd that I had an interview and now I don't.

They record all incoming calls so they could go back and listen to the original phone message. I HAD AN INTERVIEW... I just don't understand.

I hope its a computer error. who knows

Sorry to hear about the interviews that they now appear to have changed!

Americana - to change your filing type - just click on My Assistant at the top right hand side of this page, then click on Add / Edit my timeline. Once you enter your email address there you will be taken to your timeline page - the fifth item on the list is DCF ? - just use the drop down menu there to select DCF
