Hello Again;

I wanted to start and say you all are awesome. I wouldn't have been able to get this far by myself without you all help. I created another mess, and I am looking for some peace of mind.

My fiance' had her interview in Tokyo yesterday; When the clerk before the interview reviewed all the documents we provided, he/she realized that I did not have the Affidavit of Support form notarized!! I apparently sent the non notarized forms in the mail; I still have the notarized ones with me here!! Opps!!!

The clerk said she would be declined, but they let her take the interview anyway. The interview went extremely well and easy for her (everything is legit, and I make more then enough money); she said the immigration officer was friendly. She asked him if it would be big problem because we did not have the I134 notarized; the immigration officer replied with "Dont worry about it, its ok".. and at the end of the interview he told her she was approved and she would receive the K1 visa in about 1 week or so. They also kept all the documents we supplied, even my original paystubs, etc...

So it sounds like we shouldnt worry, but I am concerned about the inital person saying we would be denied. So currently she is a mess and scared to celebrate, and I am stressing as well. Also, I know we shouldnt do this but, her airline ticket is already brought!!

So long story short... Should be really worried, or everything will be fine?!?

I am very looking forward to everyone's response.

I want to thank you all once again in advance; everyone has been soo helpful.

You were lucky you had a friendly counselor officer. In most countries that would not fly. Counselor officers in the higher immigration fraud countries look for things like that to deny visas. So don't try that in China, or the Philippines.

If your fiancee was approved and has visa they you have nothing to worry about.

I agree. Actually, the I-134 is not a required document. You just have to convince the Consular officer the intending immigrant is unlikely to become a public charge. Your pay stubs etc. did that. I wouldn't advise skipping the I-134 or neglecting to have it notarized but at this point, I expect she's good to go. Waiting until the passport with visa is in hand before celebrating is always a good idea though. There are fairly rare instances of reversals but this wouldn't be a reason for one.

Agree... perfect example of how officer's opinions differ, even in the sme Consulate. It sounds as though you have nothing to worry about. Congratulations!!

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
