Hello evryone I am over in the states on a CR-1 visa. I haveapplied for my spcial security card and was told it would take weeks for them to verify all of my details. SS gave me a form saying taht as long as my visa allows me to work then I can work while my application is being processed. Just want to know if anybody has done that or is doing that. It would be nice to work now!

This is pretty common with people who have work visas. You've applied for your SSN, and the employer can accept the fact that you've applied for it (they have something like 90 days to get the number from you.) So you should be good to go; they don't want a delay on their end to prevent you from working.

It depends on the employer. Most of the places we've called say they need at least a social security # which we are still waiting for.
