What the heck are they doing? Are they trying to win a World's Record or something?? Edited by gogo

Your petition is still in the hands of USCIS in the USA. China has nothing to do with your case yet. Please fill in your profile information. You didn't petition for an N/A visa and your wife isn't from N/A country.

I think peoples' emotional state of mind benefits from having appropriate expectations. My purpose was to assist you and any other readers in establishing appropriate expectations.

I suspect if your case is delayed, it has something to do with your case specifically, not your spouse's country of origin or USCIS workers.

I know my applications are with the dumb-### USCIS people.. where did I mention in my original post that it was from China?? All I was saying that it is taking them way too long compared with previous people who applied for "China"... .. so what's the whole point of being a US Citizen if we are the last to get approved? I'm trying to find whatever way I can to get approved... emailing the two senators from California , governor, DHS (Homeland Security), white house.gov, whatever it takes.. I lost my patience already and it stings everyday.. time for waiting patiently is over!!

I believe USCIS are just hiring people to fill in positions. I called twice today and spoke to 2 separate Customer Service reps. I know more information than the Reps. Very frustrating. After the last Customer Service rep read the list of question from a computer prompt, and took my receipt numbers, I had to tell him that my petitions were in California, and that yes you need two petitions for a K-3. I mean unbelievable. I finally had to tell them at the end of the conversation, that it was not comforting for people who have been waiting 6months to a year for their love one, for the Reps to say things like " I don't know." and read back to me the same things I'm looking at right on line with my computer. :(

200 days + 6 weeks (NVC trip) + 3-4 months (NVC-> Consulate) + 2 months (Consulate) ==> 500+ days

The petition adjudication process has multiple steps, so petitions sit in multiple queues during the process. Each petition in each queue is acted upon in order but each step can take longer for one petition than another. Very little if any of the process is shorter or longer because of the country of origin. A case can get hung up for various reasons at any step in the USCIS end of the process.

Where the country of origin comes into play in the timeline is after the case clears NVC, not during the USCIS service center end of the process. Approvals are not granted in order. Steps in the process are taken in order. I hope this helps you have a better set of expectations.

NOA1 to NOA2 is usually the most frustrating and difficult phase of the process because it is nothing but a black hole, during which no meaningful information is available for most cases. When information is available, its bad news like an RFE etc.

I understand your pain and hope it can be lessened by a more appropriate understanding of the process and expectations. Again, apparently something is hung up in your case but it's about your case, not your wife's country of origin or stupid USCIS people. Those same people process the cases that move faster.

What is an "appropriate expectation" then? I was figuring I would be the same as everyone else.. but a few of us in March/April are still waiting for approvals.. while people in May are getting approved... maybe I should wait maybe another 6 months for them to approve?? Pushbrk, according to your profile, you got the final interview around 239 days.. with 200 days under my belt, I should be nearly at the final interview, don't you think? My original expectations was for April 2008 for her arrival.. even that won't hit now with my new "expectations" above (of 500 days)... ######, it won't even be this time NEXT YEAR...   I just don't like the fact that people are getting approved ahead of us.. Congrats to the May filers who got lucky, but those were uncalled for..

I have to apologize for my previous posts... just a little uneasy today =( I'm sorry about that..

They said they were doing "security checks" on my case... I thought the "checks" (administrative processing) weren't until after you get approved (way after Packet 3 even)..

haha.. thanks :innocent: just trying to help others to what I have learned through this process.. nevertheless, it does take lots of patience even for this 1st step.. I'm mad because 200 days and not even touches.. Those "touches" were from USCIS, but I called in on 10/15, 10/16, 10/17 and pushed them... so those don't really count as real touches.. someone from USCIS was planning on helping me (fax them a letter and they said they will look at my case and approve if no problems).. but the status on the USCIS website hasn't changed yet..

I don't know how long it will take to finish adjudication of your case. I'm saying it is inappropriate to expect that your case is faster or slower because of country of origin, processing out of order, or stupid adjudicators. It is also inappropriate to expect approvals to be in order. Processing is in order. Different cases take longer to process based on case factors.

When I went through the K3 process, I had an example timeline from a filer just ahead of me, I was hoping to match. His petition was approved in 30 days. Mine took 85. Overall though, my timeline from filing to interview was two days faster than his. His got hung up after NVC and mine raced through from NVC to interview. I have no explanation for any of the differences in any part of our timelines or why his and mine were the two fastest K3 timelines recorded on CFL in 2006.

wow, congratulations on such a speedy journey!! Guess I'm not one of the lucky ones.. :crying: I tried calling in yesterday, and the lady laughed at me.. she laughed at how many times I called recently, and I asked her "what, do you want me to call in 1 year?"... and then she got mad and starting taking me seriously.. she said "don't talk like that, I'm just trying to help"... so sometimes you just have to push them to get stuff done.. but I don't know if she was for real or not in helping me get approved... (by faxing in a letter to her and stating I wanted my I-130 to continue, and not I-129F)... when I asked them about what kind (and for who?) of security checks.. they couldn't tell me... =( I would think they do the "background check" on me first..

They are not going to tell you anything about background checks except that they do them or are doing them. As for the faxing of the letter, I have no prediction whether it will make a difference except to say, they don't call it the misinformation line for nothing.

Hi Gogo,

I have decided to continue with the K3. Also, I know for whatever its worth I have contacted Senators Casey office today which is in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. He told me they would provide any help I need to get our applications completed. I also explained to him about its taking 4 to 6 weeks for CSC to our applications to the NVC. Also, he was going to look into this and

get back with me. I had worked with our Congressman's office before but, really the help they provided was helping me complete the K3 and not much more.

I believe our applications will be approved right before the next time USCIS updates there expected dates. :crying: Its sad and the wait is unbearable! We are waiting for USCIS to look at ONE document before our approvals. But, since they sent these RFE we now have been delayed and pushed back in line. This one document is unexcuseable by the Attorney should have known to have us included this in our paperwork. We will have lost about 6 weeks. These six weeks would have had my husband and family here for the holidays. There are no words that can justify this for me!! The wait continues.............
