Anyone over 180 days?

Hi Everyone,

Anyone that is over 180 days here.. Let's see how many are over their "180 day" limit.. this is so ridiculous... what kind of "security checks" are they doing on my application? It seems they are probably playing computers games, that's more like it.. They wouldn't even tell me who the "security check" is for (me or her).. I already work for the government, so don't know why there is a slowdown... :angry: ...

I am here with you, gogo. Very sad and disappointed with this process. We are delayed for 3 weeks now because USCIS is trying to figure out if I am the same person... UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!! We reached today the 200 day mark

Were you divorced before? I hear that they are looking to see if you are the "same person" as your maiden name.. (with the name of change of previously being married and divorced)... are they doing a "security check" on you too (like me)?? Oh no, both are first marriages for us.. no divorce before here (or on her side)... =) I just hope I don't get a RFE.. that would really suck.. if I do, that would be at least another 1 or 2 months before they start "resuming" the case..

I was married to USC and I enclosed our divorce decree however, in Pennsylvania divorce decree did not have my maiden name on it. But, my birth certificate had my maiden name on and it did not match my ex married name on the divorce decree. So, USCIS requested my ex-marriage license to connect the dots of my maiden name which is on the marriage license with my ex-husband name. My divorce decree has my ex married name with my ex husbands name. Along with all my other documents.

The Attorney who completed our documents never mentioned anything about sending the ex marriage license for the name changes and verification. Now of course we are paying the price again for the wait. So, I do not know if the security check has been completed or not but, they also had my social security number to process this. But, who knows. What do you think?

Honey, My wife and I have never been married, and we both do not have kids. I believe our petitions were pretty straight forward, and I received no RFE. Yet we are still waiting. Did you hear from USCIS that your previous marriage and the name change was the reason for your delay..

Do you know how long these "security checks" are? I hear some are as long as 1 year's time? ughhhh... that makes me shudder (much more than a scary movie).. I still don't get why some people get processed much faster (I see some people from CSC who are May filers and have been approved)... Does the country also have something to do with it? .. China isn't one of the most "trusted" countries around.. but give us a break.. If they don't trust us, then the US shouldn't even invest in China.. :crying:

My Honey, I'm not sure how long your (and mine) security checks will be.. I really haven't seen much of this stuff on Visajourney yet... I do see AP (Administrative checks).. but those are after you get approved... I think that the "checks" done before the approval are for the petitioner... the "checks" done after approval are for the petitionee (maybe that's not the word)..

Yes, I received a request for additional information and this was the reason why. They wanted to know if I was the same person because of this. USCIS has my whole life history in front of them and this is the reason for the delay. We wasted three weeks and still are waiting for our approvals. This just go to show everyone having an Attorney complete the documents is useless because we have been delayed because of there oversight on our applications!!

I believe God reviewed our applications on Sunday. Because I just can't believe USCIS touched them on a Sunday. But, I was told friday for our RFE it was on the officials desk who reviewed our applications earlier and if they made it to work we should see our approvals. But, because of the fires we are still waiting. Anyway, the touch on 10/26/2007 is because of the telephone call but, on 10/28/2007, I'm hoping this is our approvals. But, who knows and after all the touches on our applications I do not want to get my hopes up to be let down again......

"if" they made it to work? so people from USCIS aren't even going to work?? wow... I wonder if this should apply to when we pay taxes too... "if" I have enough money left, I'll pay my taxes... if we didn't pay our taxes in time, the government will grill us... oh great, now they aren't even showing up for work... :crying:

You probably will just get your approvals. Honestly, I believe there is no real procedure here for touches! CSC either gives you so many touches and then a approval. Or you do not receive any touches and get your approval. So, do not worry about the touches. As long as they have your applications this is important and they are with someone who can approve them! Best of luck!

It was because of the fires. I believe CSC is located in San Diego. Correct???

I wanted to let you know our applications have already made the security checks. The only thing we are waiting on is for the official to look at my ex marriage license which states my maiden name to link our documents. Apparently, this is a common problem for people who have been previously married. So, I hope my experience will help someone who is just filing to send also a copy of their ex marriage license along with the divorce decree to avoid any unnecessary delays.
