Having a bit of an issue with my fiancee's G G-325a form.

My fiancee's mother was born in a remote area of Thailand and she only has a birth year, there is no month or day indicated. How do we get around this? I wrote an addendum telling them uscis the situation but I am affraid to turn in the application because I am concerned I will get an RFE.

The situation for her father is the same she only has the birth year. Her father has not been in her life since her birth and there is no way to contact him.

For both her mother and father we have their birth year and where they were born.

Will this be enough with an addendum explaining the situation?

Thanks

When we filed out Andre's, we knew his father's first and last name only; but not where he was born, nor his date of birth, and we wrote we thought he died in 2003. No one is sure of any of that. Didn't make a bit of difference on the things we left blank. His birth certificate didn't even include his father's name.

I have learned most embassy's are used to this kind of thing and are not as ####### as we tend to be.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

It should be sufficient but you aren't required to document the birth of the beneficiary's parents. You need only write the date. If the mother knows the month and day, just use her memory. Same with the father (mother's memory, if any) and then indicate unknown for anything unknown. A signed attachment indicating the reason should take care of it unless the parents show up on a terrorist list or something.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Rin only had her parents name and birthplace. I entered them and put unknown for DOB. Never an issue. I am guessing that happens quite often.
