Lots of businesses have closed because of health hazzards with the smoke. I can smell the smoke more this morning than I have all week.

I read the news on USCIS and can't figure it out, so I'll ask bluntly: is the CSC closed because of this? The places mentioned are:

San Diego field office

Chula Vista field office

San Marcos application support center

San Diego Golden Hall

Chula Vista Service Center <- ?

Los Angeles field office

San Bernardino field office

Santa Ana field office

Is any of them the actual California Service Center?

I understand that the places mentioned are places that are open to the public, and I don't think the CSC is open to the public, but since my I-485 was recently transferred to CSC, I'd hate to see it delayed indefinitely because of wildfires... I don't mean to sound heartless and my sympathy does go out to whomever is affected by the fires, but I also want my green card!

Wow, I hope the fire never gets there. How scary for everyone involved :( We JUST got our NOA2 from there so I guess we should be grateful for that at least. Feel horrid about all those fires. To think some people may have done it on purpose. :(

No, none of those are the CSC. Since it is not open to the public, I'm not sure whether they would post it on the site or not.

I imagine there could be delays even if it stays open, though. Employees may have had to evacuate their homes and/or may be unable to get to work due to road closures. Maybe if that is happening, there will be some kind of update on the impact on processing times? I don't know. The site says my case was "updated" yesterday, so there must be at least some people able to work there.

The satellite map I looked at this morning makes the Santa Ana Mountains look like they are the coastline because the smoke is so think it obscures pretty much all of San Diego and Orange Counties. I suppose it must have looked like that in 1993, too, because there was ASH all over the ground all over Orange County that looked like snow by the morning after the Laguna Beach fire was set (did they ever catch whoever did it?). All I can say is holy #######!

(And yes, even as a former Californian, the first thing that went through my mind was what would happen to our petition if the CSC burned down.)
