Where is the best place online to order a police certificate relevant to a I-129F case in the UK?

Also, will having a police cert before the NOA2 get you a quicker interview date?

The url for police certificates from the metropolitan police is http://www.met.police.uk/dataprotection/forms/3019b.pdf .

Having one won't speed things up but not having one could slow things down as you are not supposed to send back the checklist requesting an interview until you have one. A UK police certificate is valid for 1 year.

A Met police application will do KJC no good. He/she will need to apply to his local police force using their forms. He can either go to his local constabulary web page, or go into the station and ask for the correct form.

Is this true?

I just downloaded the above form, filled it in and was ready to post it tomorrow morning... Now I'm not sure if I should...

I guess I will just go to the police station to be on the safe side... Having a police report rejected by the people at the embassy would be a complete disaster

From the Met's website: "Please note that we will only be able to provide you with information if you live or have lived in the Metropolitan Police area (most of London). Otherwise you should apply to the Police service which covers the region or area concerned."

If you have ever lived in London, then you can apply through the Met. Otherwise, go down to your local cop shop and apply there. Better safe than sorry!

Yes, it is true. You have to apply to your local police force (doesn't have to be at the station, in person). You can download the form from your local force's website and post to the address they advise.

For example, I applied to the Thames Valley Police Force at their Oxford HQ address. The subject access form I received back is sent from the National Identification Service at New Scotland Yard but specifically mentions that Thames Valley Police have nothing on file for me.

At the minute it's probably best to go in to the cop shop in person, with the mail the way it is.

If you do go in, they give you the reciept straight away (or at least they did for me 2 weeks ago in London), and you can start counting down your 40 days. Otherwise you'll have to wait for the Royal Mail Unions to make nice with the Royal Mail Exec's and god knows when that will be.

I went in today and they gave me a form to fill out, but they said I will have to hand it into the main office downtown, which sucks.

Hello

I will look for my police certificates next week.

I believe that every country is diferent. Some certificates can be used for one year, and take 40 days to be ready...others are just valid for 3 months, and is ready in 2 days...I am a little confuse..

Here in Brazil, what I read until now is that I need two polices certificates:

* Federal - Polícia Federal - Atestado de bons antecedentes

* State - Secretaria de Segurança Pública - Atestado de bons antecedentes

So, someone from Brazil, that did this no so long ago, can give me some info?

How long takes to have this 2 certificates?

It is true that is only valid for 3 months?

Thank you very much

Ali

As Mags says and will be asked in interview. A police cert from Scotland Yard is only good for England and Wales applicants. (And Scots who have spent more than 6 months outside Scotland) I asked a few questions at the interview re this.

You'd be better off posting this question in the forum that covers Brazil. This is the UK forum so I doubt you will have many takers for your question! ;)

A valid point indeed.

I don't know if I'll get a reply in time before I go to the police station 9 hours from now. I will probably get this question answered at the police station, but I'm not sure if they know a lot about immigration stuff...

At the end of this form I come to this:

PLEASE INDICATE IF INFORMATION IS REQUESTED FROM THE POLICE NATIONAL COMPUTER (FOR CONVICTIONS IN ENGLAND/WALES) *YES/NO

AND/OR THE SCOTTISH CRIMINAL RECORDS OFFICE *YES/NO

If you have been involved in a specific incident for which you now require information please supply us with as much information as possible to enable us to find it. (this should include, where possible, time, date, place and type of incident)

Do I say yes to both? Or is this only if you HAVE a criminal history? Or do I need to say YES so that I can prove to immigration I have no criminal offences?
