I ADORE Dr Who and Torchwood, so nayah. :P But I have to say that Top Gear RAWKS! Love that show too.

Anyway, I did watch Kitchen Nightmares and Gordon Ramsey is fabulous. I did prefer the UK version though, cause that doesn't spend the first ten minutes going over what is going to happen in the next 40 minutes AND Gordon Ramsey actually goes back to the restaurant he helped out around 2 weeks later to see if they are still doing all right (am sure I could have done with a comma in there somewhere!).

It would have been interesting to see if Peter returned to being a knob...

and I like Gordon Ramsey has the voice over guy a whole lot better....

the American version doesn't have the same "charm" or something.....

Better still, if you want an idea of what he is really like, read his autobiography, Humble Pie.

Ramsey Rules!!

I will look for that!!

I haven't seen the new Kitchen Nightmares, but I watched it in Canada- the UK version.

They have it here on the BBC channel and I have Mel hooked on it too.

Aye, occassionally BBC America do show some good quality British programmes; Kitchen Nightmares and Top Gear are the best. I would really like for them to pick up some of the better BBC programming though instead of ####### like Dr. Who, Torchwood, etc, Q.I. is actually a really funny show with Stephen Fry and I really miss good quality fly-on-the-wall shows like Airport, A Life of Grime and Car Wars.

I just started reading 'Humble Pie' - its great!!

And I just had to give a shout out to 'Top Gear'. It makes me laugh like a drain!

what is this show Top Gear about?? I thought it was a show about cars

Top Gear is a show about cars but rather than just be a show about new car models and act as a glorified commercial for the car industry the hosts take a very irreverant look at cars. The main draw for the show are the hosts; Jeremy Clarkson is very opinionated and controversial, James May is somewhat aloof and Richard Hammond is the funny one; the stunts they perform such as trying to outrun a Challenger II Main Battle Tank in a Range Rover and, then there are the races, such as Hammond in a car vs British army paratrooper.

Check out these two videos for a good example of Top Gear humour -

Oh God, are they they guys who came to the US, bought really cheap cars and tried to drive them through the deep south with things such as NASCAR SUCKS and I LOVE MEN written on the sides of the cars? They nearly got beaten to a pulp by Billy Joe Bob and his brother Bubba Joe Bob at some gas station when one of the cars wouldn't start. It was one of the funnies things I think I have ever seen!

Ah, here is another one I found...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWLDndo707Y

I'll try and find the one where they go camping which was absolutely hilarious and then there was the time they tried to make cars amphibious and Clarkson sank his Toybota right at the end...

Heheheh, yes that's the one.

It was a piece they were doing to see if it would be cheaper to buy an old car when on holiday in the US rather than hire one. The producers gave them each $1000 and told them to buy a car and they had to drive across 3 states. They were set mini tasks along the way. One of those tasks were to decorate each other's cars, and of course being complete stitch up merchants they all tried to really embarrass each other. One car was daubed with (as you stated), NASCAR sucks, another was painted with pink paint "Man Love Rules", and the third was painted with "Hillary for President".

The state they had to drive across with all this on was Alabama!!!

I nearly died laughing. They nearly died!!

That was freaking hilarious. I just watched it on You Tube today having never seen it before and I nearly wet myself  . That little episode at the petrol station persuaded me never to want to visit Alabama. I think the Bubba's down there were probably more upset with the slogan about NASCAR than they were about Hillary or man love.

My skin was crawling after seeing all those roaches and flys *shudders*

Then seeing that rotten food, which Gordon ate :dead:

Glad he got rid of that dead weight Martin too.

Martin totally knew he was about to be fired which is why is jumped ship before he pushed. I guess that is one less rat that restaurant has to deal with.
