Hi Raquel. I filed my K-1 back in July. I made copies of everything and 3 hole punched all of the papers. All of this was placed in a three ring binder. I also used dividers and letter covers. All of my information such as emails and receipts, I made copies of and placed the papers in the binder. As for the photos, I bought the photo pages and put them in the binder. Don't forget to label the photos with names and dates. The photo pages can be found in the photo album section in your Wal-Mart or whatever store you go to. They had pockets that you just slip the photos into. I hope this helps and best of luck on your journey!

Okay... so now my question is that if I didn't go through all that prep and making it pretty and such am I screwed?? I just sent it all to my fiance in one big lump that barely fit in the DHL envelope. Should I tell him to put it in a binder for the interview? He's not too good at organization and such, but at least he has all the information

The OP is talking about filing the K-1, not at interview.

In regards to your problem, he should know where certain thigns are, yes. They won't sit around & wait 30 mins for him to find something.

Make sure you send proof of meeting such as copies of stamps in the passport, boarding passes, travel itineraries. Secondary proof would be such things as photo's, atm receipts, credit card receipts (number crossed out), hotel bookings and such. The relationship information helps to paint a picture but it is not asked for when you first file the petition but is more needed at the interview stage.

I put my application into a folder in plastic pockets and enclosed a summary sheet at the front so that the adjudicator knew what was in the package.

17th March 2010 - Started the removal of conditions process

22nd March 2010 - Application received by CSC

30th April 2010 - Biometrics appointment

Hi. I wouldn't say that you are screwed, but I do think that it's best to have organized and neat. I don't think the officer would appreciate having to dig through piles of papers. I followed the guidelines here on VJ when I organized my petition. I had a cover letter and table of contents, along with dividers. I tried to make it easy as possible for the officer.

Also, I thought you were talking about filing the K-1 petition. Later you mentioned sending it to your fiance. It would need to be sent from you to your service center. Maybe I'm confused. Good luck on your journey.
