If that's the worst your daughters doing, I say you let it go. The moment you read about her doing drugs or doing something criminal/illegal, time to step in and be dad.

JMHO.

Oh yes, of course. I wrote that badly. I wouldn't want to comprimise my mole status for foul language.

I'm on MySpace too: http://www.myspace.com/bradleysettle

My little brother is on my friends list and I was showing my mom my profile one day. She wanted me to check out his site, but I wouldn't let her. I didn't feel that it was my place to help her do it. If she wants to read it on her own, no problem, join up and do it. But for me to let her access his profile through mine, I didn't feel right. Kind of felt like I was violating his trust by letting mom in. Not that there's anything really private on there (he's actually squeaky-clean!) but it for me to do it, not him, it didn't feel right.

That aside, there is a way to set the profiles to a private setting and only allow friends to view blogs and certain ifo. So, if folks are putting stuff on their profiles without it being set to private, they obviously don't care who reads it. (If mom's on the friends list though, she can read everything. But, if the daughter didn't actually "add" her to the friends list, mom may be stepping over that trust line.)

However, like Agent Smith said, if the worst thing your daughter is doing is typing a few swear words here and there, don't sweat it. And if she has a boyfriend without telling you, don't sweat that either.... she is 13!!! How cool was your mom when you were 13? If I was you, I would let her know that you have a MySpace profile, and actually "invite" her to join your friends list, that way she knows that you could access her profile, and that way the two of you could actually "talk" about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable on the internet.

The bottom line is this: It's HER space. She is still your child though, so she should adhere to what you deem socially acceptable behavior. However, MySpace exists so folks can have their own personal profile. Instead of turning this into something to argue about, why not turn it into something of a bonding experience? (All her friends may think it's cool that her mom drops by to say "just droppin by to say what's up!")

slim - the making your profile private setting seems to only be allowed for people under a certain age. I tried to make mine private because of some crazy former friends but I wasn't allowed to cause I'm too old! I think anyone should be allowed to set their profile to friends only. As much as I like myspace it's got some serious issues.

Lisa, very cool pic...I left a comment on it. And THANKS for the help on the music! I can't believe I'm so lost on this thing, lol!

PS-Is it normal for it to still say "Connecting" 3 minutes later?
