Hi everyone.. i have a question.. i know this mighbe a late question but it came to me :P sorry..

we filed our k1 last September 5 (sent it thru Fedex), and CSC received it September 6... after a long wait for our NOA1, it finally arrived in November. and it says:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On November 2, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. ........ blah blah blah.

Why does it state that the received date is NOVEMBER 2? does it mean that the processing time started November not September? it says in their website (before) that USCIS will honor the actual date that an application was received in our mailroom; this date will be indicated on the receipt (in the Received Date box) when Form I-797, Notice of Action, is mailed. if thats so, why is it that in our NOA1, November 2 is the date indicated? We called USCIS, and have spoken to an immigration officer both in USCIS California and Seattle, and they say that whatever date written in the receipt will be final. It will be the date start of the processing...

do any of you have the same situation as mine? show me the light please.. anyone? :(

Have you received your hard copy in the mail yet? If so, look at the Received Date on the form. It'll be right below the receipt number. That's the *real* received date. USCIS make it confusing by using the Notice Date on the case online status form. Pay no attention to that date, it's not the actual received date. You'll need to look at your hard copy for the real received date.

oh i see! so, the November 2 is the notice date (whick is also the date they actually opened the package).. and the received date is Sept5.. they are really confusing though  uscis site states that they will honor the "received date", while customer service says its the "noticed/opened" date. geesh.

anyways thanks mox.. may the force of approval be with all of us SOON

same here, so your Actual received date is: Septemper 6 (this is where your timeline processing start coz thats when CSC recieved it) and they entered your info in the system on Nov 2 thats also when they issued your NOA1. so go with Sep 6 to count how many days left for you til u recieve NOA2. which shows now in the estimated time in K1 Visa Historical Processing Times (158 days) yessssssssssssss I'm kinda glad now, coz yesterday it was 166 days and now it seems they're moving a little bit you know. and congrats to all of you guys who had received thier NOA2 best of luck all.

Last night I received an envelope which I assumed was NOA1 for my second application. WRONG. It was another letter responding to my missing app. This one was worded differently and is requesting proof of my previous application along with a new one and proof of payment....well i sent in proof of my previous petition but proof of payment? Should I send in a copy of my sept. check? I didnt pay technically because they never cashed it....?
