Thought I'd mention that after my phone call I was "touched." I'm not kidding myself that it means anything other than the customer service guy looked at a row in a database and said "oh you're still at least 2 months out from being worked on," but I thought I'd mention it. Pokes another hole in my theory that CSC are approving but just not updating the case status online. On the other hand, the customer service people do a completely different job than the case officers so I suppose it's not such a big hole.

i've received USCIS (Application and Petition Receipting Update for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) updates so far on the 4th, 7th, 8th and today. kind of strange since it hasnt been updated since the 4th.

I wasn't going to say anything, but your post has inspired me to post anyway.

Just a caveat: I'm firmly in the "touches mean nothing" camp. I have to admit that as my estimated approval date gets closer that my commitment to this stance grows a bit weak in the knees :) but I still believe that you can really only know what a touch means in hindsight, and therefore they are meaningless as a predictor.

Okay, caveats out of the way, I received a touch yesterday after I called for status on my case. (the real reason I called was to find out why approvals at CSC had slowed to nothing, but I got no information on that front.) I figure there's about a 95% chance that the touch was due to my call, and 5% that it had somehow wound its way onto somebody's desk. Well today I received another touch, and there's really no reason I can come up with as to why I would get it. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it's intriguing.

So I shouldn't worry that I have not received any touches? Zilch. I don't even know what a touch would look like if I did get one. It always has said this when I check my online case status....

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On November 1, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice................

(I think I might call them soon to see if I get a touch)

Frank + Jocelyn: You should edit the USCIS picture to say California Service Center to make it a little more realistic. Then you could have a similar picture except everything nicely organized and labeled in color coordinated boxes by date and label it Vermont Service Center!

I wonder why they placed my state at the CSC? Michigan is pretty far from California. If I "google map" my address it is 688 miles to Vermont and a whopping 2,452 miles to California. I guess they use a different logic than what a normal person would use. :girlwerewolf2xn:

CONGRATS Bobalouie.... you give us September filers a glimmer of hope <grin> even if you are a VSC filer....

I hear you Greatgat on the "ummmmm lack" of logic when it comes to which centre we should be at... I mean my darling USC is in OHIO for goodness sakes, California is like light years away from there - even further than Michigin <grin>

Mox, Mox MOX... DON'T go and become a touching fiend now will you... maybe CSC felt that you just needed a second tickle  one to pull up your file and one to put it away .... BUT SERIOUSLY how cool would it be if those touches pay off (careful we are getting almost rude here)...

and nica19... so many touches ... WOW are you feeling the love - lets hope it is true love for you and not just someone playing games and teasing and tantalising...

Okay folks sorry - my post here has had inuendo in place, I think it is because my man was here for 2 weeks (and while CSC couldn't be bothered touching us) we made up for it  but now he's gone and I am feeling the need for some contact... LOL...

have a GREAT day guys

Tracy
