Well, my green card expires December 13th. I counted 90 days back and it looks like Sept. 14 is the day. Can I go to the post office today or do I actually have to wait till tomorrow, the 14th, to mail it out?

Oh, and is it okay if the dates on I-751 and the cover letter are a few days early or do they have to be signed not earlier than the day the 90-day window begins?

Well, I wound up waiting till today and sent it out today instead of yesterday. We also changed the date on the cover letter to today just in case.

You don't have to mail the package exactly 90 days before the card expires. The USCIS recommends that you do it within the 90 days so they will have time to issue an extension on your existing conditional card.
