My fiancee Myla got her approval for a K1 visa last September 11. She was finished by 8:30 a.m and was back in the hotel by 9:00 am Philippine time to tell me the good news. God is great, and oh, she was asked what's my favourite american food, among others. She will be with me on October 3 with San Francisco as her POE

Thanks for all the help from the VJ members , especially Mr. Sheriff Uling, Sir.

To all the others couples here, good luck and hang in there.

Joe

Thanks everyone for the congratulatory messages. Joe is quicker than me in posting our approval here.

To make a brief summary of my interview experience, all I can say is that be truthful in all your answers and make sure you have all the documents required in the Packet 4.

My appointment was at 7:30 am and by 6:30 am, we were already allowed to go inside. My number was called for the prescreening at about 7:30 am and in 5 minutes I was done because I had all the documents asked( Birth Certificate, CENOMAR, NBI, Police Clearance from Malaysian, Affidavit of Support, ITR, , W-2, emails/snail mails, pictures, divorce decrees) and the nice lady asked me the basic questions already posted in many threads here and the guide. By 8:00 am I was called for fingerprint scanning and by 8:15 to window 30 for the interview proper. The consul, a black and very smiling guy was very nice and we had a good conversation. I noticed that he was reading our I-129F form filed at USCIS while asking me the basic personal questions about Joe like birthdate, etc etc.

He also asked me his favorite american and filipino food and if that time I met Joe, was I also talking to other men online.. I quickly answered YES and he followed it up why I chose Joe amongst the men I was talking online. Another question is if there are already wedding plans and I answered YES and he said " Tell me about it" .

Last question was what my job is and when I told him I am a lawyer he asked why I am willing to give up my career here to go live in America, I said it's the only way that I can be with the man I want to marry. . I guess that did it :)

Make sure you "memorize" the names of your fiance's children ( their age too) if any, parents and siblings. I was asked to name them, so just in case.

He didn't tell me if I was approved. He just smiled and said " Looks like everything is fine" and told me to wait again for my name to be called for further instructions. I was tempted to ask if I was approved but stopped myself.

After 5 minutes more or less, my name was called to window 37 where I was given a pink slip and my pictures, emails, snail mailes were returned . I asked if I can get back the Police clearance I obtained from the Malaysian Embassy and he said NO . . . :( . I then paid the DELBROS.

There were many applicants during that day, familiar faces whom I also met during the medical exam day in St. Lukes. I guess, I got lucky that I finished early.

Best wishes to everyone.

Myla
