Help please!

I realized that I made a mistake sending form DS-230, and pertaining documentation well ahead of time. I sent all these documents on 09/01/2007 overnight delivery; I sent the documents because I received a letter from NVC that goes like this:

_____OF-230-I: __________________________________________________________

The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (I-864). However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa fees(s). Please submit the fee(s) according to the instructions on the IV fee bill sent to you from NVC. If you have not received an IV fee bill, please contact NVC. Do not pay fees unless you have the accompanying IV fee bill, as this will result in a delay in processing your case.

When I saw OF-230-I, I thought they were asking me for the DS-230 and the rest of documents already, but today I read everything carefully and I understood they were only asking for the Immigrant Visa fee. What can I do now? Should I write to NVC to send me the documentation back? Alternatively, should I wait and see what happens? Anyway, I sent the IV fee payment on 08/10/2007; they should have received it on 08/11/2007.

Help! What should I do?

Hmm... call them to find out if they have the IV bill payment in their system. You MIGHT be ok because I got the same RFE and I had already sent them the payment so they told me to disregard the letter. That same week they generated the DS-230. I guess time will tell, but you may have a good chance for things to be ok.

Did you generate the DS-230 coversheet yourself and sent all the necessary documentation along with it?

I think your okay  I send my IV bill last August 10 by overnight (same date as yours) and also received the same letter that you have. I just ignored the letter and inquired to NVC. They told me they received/processed my payment August 20 and then they emailed me to

download DS-230 online. I 'm waiting now for the actual packet. If I don't received it this week I will use James shortcut.

I got a similar letter that just came in yesterday in the mail from NVC but I got something like this.....

_____OF-230-I: __________________________________________________________

The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (I-864) for this case. However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). Please submit the form according to the instructions. If you need another form, please visit http://Travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_13356.html to download a new form and complete instructions.

The thing that is puzzling is that for a couple of weeks now, i've been waiting the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230) as I never received it. I called NVC almost everyday for the last two weeks and they have assured me that i will be getting the DS-230 forms shortly. And now I got this letter yesterday saying they're waiting/missing this?? What ever happened to the DS-230! I am btw, the Choice of Agent. Well, regardless, I told my wife to go ahead download the form, fill it out and sign it and send along with the other required documents. I am actually calling NVC now as I write this reply to find out more as why I never received the DS-230 and about this checklist letter I received!

So for those who are waiting for your DS-230, please keep at it in calling NVC!! I tell you guys this much, everytime I call, I get different dates on when it was received and generated!!

Good luck everyone and will keep you guys posted!

God Bless you all,

Den

This is the receipt letter of AOS review complete. This is not the actual DS230 packet.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is the message that you get from NVC automated system, when you are informed that the AOS has been completed and that you are "missing info". This is the actual letter they need to send out to petitioner to notify they will soon request the DS230 from the beneficiary.

I am sorry I have not replied to any of your comments, but I haven’t been home for 2 weeks now. I just wanted to update you about the letter I received a few weeks ago. I told my wife to download the form DS-230 fill it up and send it to me. I sent all the documentation pertaining to this case to NVC on 09/01/2007. Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Report, and Biodata of my wife’s passport all these documents were authenticated by The Electoral Supreme Council of Managua, Nicaragua. One of my friends here in Los Angeles, California did the translations. I was worried that I sent all documents without cover letter, but tonight I called the NVC and they said, “Not to worry about the cover letter, that they got all the documents on 09/07/2007, and if everything is right it is going directly to the US Consulate in Managua, Nicaragua. Therefore, I guess this cake is already baked!

Thank you very much for all the help that you guys have provided me with.

Thanks for sharing the outcome. This is such a harrowing experience. Going through it together definitely helps. I think I would be insane.
