what is an A-number?

I need help. I'm just starting to apply for the K-1 visa, and it's asking for an A-number...can someone tell me what that is??

The A number is an Alien registration number. If you are just starting the process you won't have one yet. Just fill in N/A.

That's right, if you are just starting the process as an immigrant, you won't have one. Native born US citizens will NOT have one.

Once you are given the A#, it'll be yours forever, all the way until you get your USC. Even after you are naturalized, you'll still need it if you need to sponsor your relatives.

Unless your fiancée has been a beneficary for a visa before, there isn't one. Just write, "N/A".
