Working from home is great. Working from home on a pyramid scheme-infomercial thing, not so much. (Plus, wouldn't you need an EAD for that anyway?)

Could LuzyC get her certification for beautician-stuff while she waits for her green card?

My mother-in-law got into buying curiosities at garage sales and then selling them on eBay. Doesn't make her rich, but brings in a little spending money.

I did ask one friend about that and she told me that I need to finish the cosmetology course AFTER the GC?

I need to ask and find some info. to make it sure then...

Wow, when I'm home I don't want to work.

Be careful about what you get involved with, some of these info commericals are just looking to take your money.

I think the responses would be different in the Working prior to Greencard forum :D.. we have advocates who state even for babysitting one would require an EAD. ;)

God luck finding something to occupy your time!

Just to clairify, Luz has her interview Nov 1 and hopefully a GC soon after. We will not start anything until then. Just planning ahead is all.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Oh no, I worked illegally as a teenager... ;)

Luzy, why do you think you can't complete the licensing course before your greencard? (I know nothing about beautician stuff.) You can do college courses without permanent resident status -- is there a reason cosmetology is different?

It's the logistics of it more than anything. She can't drive until she gets a GC (Illinois will not give DL's until a GC is issued) and since I work 2nd shift I would be asleep when she would need to be going to school. Besides, we would rather have something that she can do on her own time. The idea of punching a clock isn't whats in the cards right now. This in more of a "relieve the boredom" and make some spending money type of thing.

Gotcha. We're sort of in the same boat. C.'s watching a lot of youtube, hehe. And building me shelves and re-organizing the house.
