Luz is looking for something to keep her busy and to make a few bucks. I was up late last night and saw an infomercial about buying and selling "cash flow notes". Basically they are personal mortgage notes. This guy says you can make money hooking up people that want to sell the notes with people that want to buy them.

It sound interesting but I am always warry of any work at home type of thing. Here is the guys web site.

Anyone tried this or heard anything good or bad about it? Has anyone tried one of the other work at home business's that Luz might be able to try?

I avoid any home-business advertised on late-night infomercials like the plague. I'd recommend Googling his name, looking for complaints.

If it's on an infomercial it's NFG.

Here's my idea. Luz should think of what she likes to do and what she's good at, then find a way to make money at it.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Or for every person who is successful, there are 10 people who are not.

Sure, the one out of the 10 that is able to convince the others to invest in his/her program by sending him/her $49.95 (or whatever amount) to get started in this great new venture.

Y'know...training to be a medical transcriptionist or some such is pretty popular. Once trained you can work for doctor's offices or hospitals by transcribing from home. From what I've been told (one of our parents does this) she is hired by the hospital and is paid by them yet she works from home X number of hours a week. Just like a regular job, only done at home.

I make a good little profit selling soy candles. I got into it because I wanted a way to pay less for my candles, and then ended up selling them to friends. If anyone wants to know more about it drop me a line. I don't usually do the info/at home business thing, this just kind of fell in my lap lol.

I am not tied to this particular idea by any means. I understand that most of the "too good to be true" deals are just that. The only reason I latched onto this one is because I have had a personal experience with it. Many years ago my ex and I held a personal mortgage for a house that my ex sold. One day we were contacted by a person offering to buy the note. He basically gave us what the principal owed would be at that time and he took the note. Good deal for us since we didn't have to get the money $200 at a time for another 20 years. So it is something that has been around for a while and someone is making money at it. Just thought I would see if any of you had any dealings with this.

Any other suggestions as to something Luz could do from home would be welcome.

Luz - you're so funny!

Well, you could do manicure/pedicure for friends and neighbors. One thing about the good ol' USA is that if you're good at something here, people will find you.

Working from home is great. Working from home on a pyramid scheme-infomercial thing, not so much. (Plus, wouldn't you need an EAD for that anyway?)

Could LuzyC get her certification for beautician-stuff while she waits for her green card?

My mother-in-law got into buying curiosities at garage sales and then selling them on eBay. Doesn't make her rich, but brings in a little spending money.
