My EAD is almost 120 days since 1st notice, I am working on a casework and send to my local congressman for help.

I am just curiours what will they do for me; will they call the USCIS 800 number and ask the same things I asked?

Or will they have a special access to the system and get a better update statues for me?

Could I also ask him/her for help on my AOS?

Please share any experience dealing with congressmen/women.

I called my senator's office when I ran into the CSC shipping department not mailing my stuff over to the NVC after waiting a few weeks. I got some letter back from the senators office on how they inquired into my case, and the letter had details from what the USCIS told them. A week before I got the letter from my senator's office my case got mailed to the NVC then off to the embassy. This all happened about a year ago.

We requested senatorial assistance because we were concerned that our AOS was lost (transferred to CSC in April with no pending status until mid-June). They sent us a letter with an information disclosure form that we had to fill out and explain our situation. At that point we found out that it was pending, but were then having problems with EAD (sent in early June, not received several weeks later). His staff did an inquiry via e-mail and it returned not real result ("We mailed the EAD on blah blah date, wait until it's past 30 days to inquire" even though it was past 30 days by the time he responded). The only thing that resolved all of this was going to an Infopass appointment and finding out what was going on with his card. You can request senatorial assistance, but I'd also schedule an Infopass appointment.

Good luck.

My 129F was taking FOREVER- we had filed in March 2006 and still hadn't heard anything by March 2007 (Yes- 1 whole year)- the only thing we got was the NOA2 from the NVC in September 2006. I involved my congresswoman in March 2007, and I had an interview date in Montreal less than a week later. I would strongly recommend contacting them. I guess some are better than others, but it's definitely worth a try.

I called USCIS yesterday because more than 90 days since filed for my EAD I-765

They made a special request on the case, and the next day, I have the email stated that the card is produced!! :innocent:

I suggested if you are outside of the normal processing date, call USCIS and they will make it special request about it, and hopefully you will get updated right after.
