gud luck i feel ur pain , but did you say ur wife doesnt do anything during the day? I feel ur pain cuz I am supporting my husband he came from Phils and I only make like 36,000 to 39,000 here in ny. My husband cuz he is waiting for work auth helps around d house, did you talk to your wife about everything ? Did you explain to ur wife before u came here ur financial situation? I kept tellling my fiance (at that time) when I was in Phils my family isnt rich, I am not rich. At first he came here he thought we would buy a new car, start a bizness, get $$$ help from my family right away . And send tons of $$ to his family . WRONG!!! the first couple of days here I went over our budget and now he "gets"it! That we are flat A$$ broke for now! the $$ we send his family we do what we can, my advice be honest about finances , you know here is US $$ is the biggest cause for divorce, so keep open, if your wife cant make the sacrafice, maybe should go back home, good luck

Mrs. Bruce: thank you for explaining your question a bit more. Without that explanation, I did see the question as inflammatory. :)

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if one or two people who are posting on this thread had a background in counselling. But yes, it's difficult to offer suggestions when hearing only one side of the story.

I wouldn't recommend a lawyer, but I would recommend visiting your pastor if you have one, couple's therapy, or mediation (although I do know of quiet a few lawyers who are also mediators). Mediation in my state is free.
