K-3 while working in japan

A good friend of mine is about about to be married to his Japanese fiancee. He has been working there in Japan for almost 4 years teaching English. His contract is up in about 6 months. He intends on marrying her while he is there and doing the K-3 process. He at this time does not have a new job lined up for him when he gets back, but that could and most likely will change soon.

My question is will the fact that he will be returning to the states either without a job or with a brand new one around the time his interview will be happening. Will this cause him some problems? His parents own a hotel here in the states, so would it be best if they co-sponsor her? Or will his current job and a new contracted position(even though he will have no income yet from this job) be sufficient for when he returns? Any other advice on this matter that you think will help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

If you'll study the guides, I think you'll find a direct consular filing of for a CR1 visa will be a better option for your friends than the K3 path.
