Hi everyone,
Our K-1 visa petition was approved on December 31, 2025 (NOA2).
Our case was sent to the Department of State on February 25, 2026, and we received our case number through a public inquiry on March 17, 2026.
The beneficiary’s embassy is in Monrovia, Liberia.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes for a case to move from NVC to the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia? Any recent timelines or experiences would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!

No idea about wait time, but I  believe Liberia is on 75 banned country pause

Hi, I know all cases are different but in terms of timeline for Liberia, the delay is extremely bad. Mine was sent to NVC in December 2024, received case number in Feb 2025. Nothing since then, have been waiting for interview for over a year. It's been a tough wait, but we are still hanging on.

Wow, since February 2025? That's a very long time. Have you guys tried transferring your case to another country?

Yeah, very long time. We have not initiated a transfer. We are handling the process ourselves so we don't want to complicate it with transfer request. But we are giving it till this summer, if no movement, then we will look at transfer and other options.

BisouZ, welcome to the forum!

It's time to involve your U.S. Congressman's office.  The "immigration liaison" is typically in the Washington, DC office.  Go on the Congressman's website and see if you can find the release form that gives that office permission to intercede on your behalf.  Fill that out and submit it, or call to talk with the immi liaison first.  Let us know what happens.
