It looks like all processing is now on hold due to PM-602-0194 if you are one of the 75 countries. They are not issuing any new cards and looking in depth into all application under the new declarations from the president. Anyone else noticed this?

 

As a result, we are now renewing her license with a SAVE case and requesting an ITIN for the tax filing. 

If you are a first timer for ITIN like us, you will need to file W-7 with your federal tax return and original passport or other docs to prove identity and status.  Do not file state return until the ITIN is returned with the passport. 

If time is up and you must file, do so but know that any refunds won't process until you provide an ITIN. 

Learned after the fact that we could have gone to a certified location like HR block to validate documents like the passport and not send the original and that it may take up to 5 months to get that passport back.
