hello, in the past, years ago, when we update address online we used to enter our OLD and NEW address and date of move.

I just filled a form online on USCIS website however it only asked my A number and new address.

i also entered receipt number that i track my green card - not NVC number (i entered as cr1 visa)

i worry if i used a wrong form. is this all i need to know for address change requirement?

thank you for any guidance.

AR-11 is the correct form.  They track by A number.  Sounds like you are fine.

Remember that sponsors who have submitted an I-864 must report address changes by mailing an I-865.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes if they filed the I-84 on the immigrant's behalf they must file the I-865 and it has to be done on a paper form, by mail

hello again, i just logged into uscis account and my submission doesn't appear. it says "you have no submissions" even though i submitted it last week. is this normal? should i submit a new address change?

I submitted the request 5 days ago. it says it can take up to 2 days for it to appear but still nothing.

if you can guide me, i will appreciate it. thank you.

To be safe, I always suggest online AR-11 and also a paper version, sent by mail to USCIS via certified mail with return receipt.  That way you will have documentation to show that you properly followed their procedures if you are ever questioned.

We helped a friend do this. It happened to them as well but when we went in the portal and checked their profile, the address had been corrected.

I've not seen anyone get into trouble for a late submission.
