Immigration officials said Old Orchard Beach reserve officer Jon Luke Evans overstayed his visa. The police department says he was legally authorized to work.

BIDDEFORD, Maine — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials said Monday afternoon they arrested a Maine police officer in Biddeford after he attempted to purchase a firearm illegally.

Jon Luke Evans, of Jamaica, was arrested by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston (ERO Boston) in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on Friday, July 25, in Biddeford, according to a news release.

What visa would ha have been on that had a stay of less than a month and allowed work authorization?  Sounds like a B2, so wonder if he was using fake documents to get the E-Verify system approval.
