Thanks for the reply Photo. I agree with you about my vaccination record. How can my Dr say that without having a vaccination record to look at.

As for the medical history, the page you linked to doesn't ask for it but this pages clearly states Medical History as a seperate requirement to vaccination records

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3739.html

The travel.state.gov page you linked too is an 'all encompassing' page. The one I linked to is from the place you are actually getting your medical and is specific to the UK. You do not need your medical history records in the UK.

If in doubt, feel free to call knightsbridge doctors and they will confirm what you do and do not need. Their number is 020 7486 7822

Ok I just called Bentinck Mansions and asked exactly what I need to bring. I was told the following.

Things Required

Passport

Photo

Questionnaire

Police Certificate

Things Not Required But Bring If You Can Get

Vaccination Records

Full medical history only if you are being or have ever been treated for some serious illness or disease

I had my medical today at Bentinck Mansions. It was pretty painless in all. I got there quite early around 8:05am for a 9:10am appointment. I tried the buzzer just in case they were already open but they werent. I found a bench nearby and sat and read the Metro until 8:55 then i tried again and got let in. Once you get inside, the door to Knightsbridge Doctors is on the right. When i got to the desk, the lady (who i believe is called Jade) was friendly and took my passport, photo, police certificate and vaccination records and questionnaire. She kept my passport and other documents right up until i left. They were in a folder that the doctor had. The police certificate was photocopied and i was given the original back straight away.

I was given another questionnaire which was almost the same as the first, just a few more details. I gave that back at reception and they said i will be called in a few minutes. About 2 minutes later, a friendly older woman called me and we went to the furthest room on the right for the X-Ray. She told me to take off everything on the top half including my necklace and put on this blue robe/dressing gown thing. Then i had to get into an awkward position and the X-Ray was done. Then i went to sit in a small separate waiting room still wearing it.

After about 15 minutes, i was called into another room by the doctor. She was called Alex and seemed to be British. She was very friendly and made me feel at ease. She managed to get a normal blood pressure reading so she must have done something right! She went through the questions with me again and asked about my hospital admission and wrote a few notes. She then weighed me and measured me. Then she asked me to cover one eye at a time and read a line from the eye chart. Then looked in my eyes, ears and throat. She then told me to take off my trousers and get on the bed. After that, she felt my stomach and did a breast exam. Then checked i was female. Happy to confirm i was right all along  and then asked me to push against her arms with my legs and then my arms and moved my legs to check my hips. Finally she did the blood test which didnt hurt at all. This all took 20ish minutes.

I got dressed and she told me that she will send my vaccination records to the nurse to check over so i went back to the main waiting room. I never saw her. I was just called up to pay and told everything was complete. I notice they have marked down that i have had chicken pox without even asking me! (I have had it, but they werent to know).

So in all, it took 45 minutes and was completely painless. They could do with re-filling the soap in the toilet though... For £227 for 45 minutes, i expect soap!

Holly, I had mine on Wednesday. You described your experience just as mine was! I was also annoyed about the soap lol. I think you had a more pleasant Dr though, mine was European & a bit frosty but whatever. The only thing was that when I saw the vaccination lady last, she said although I had had tetanus & was fine for UK standards, I'd need to have it again to qualify for AOS in the US. She was really nice & said not to pay extra & have it done by them, but to just go back to my GP. I told her I was awaiting the MMR booster so she told me to get the tetanus then too.

All in all, I found it quite intrusive but it's done now. They said if they hadn't called me by yesterday then everything was in order & the embassy would have my results on Monday.

Yeah it was quite intrusive! But the doctor i had said "If you dont mind" after everything. We both knew it wasnt negotiable but it made me feel better

I got there an hour early so i went for a bit of a walk and came across their other doctors thats pictured on the first page! It is actually a lot closer than i thought.

That was considerate of yours, mine was frosty but I guess you're being examined & not having your usual chat with your own GP.

I was actually so stressed out as I was making the journey up from Surrey, my appointment was at 12:50pm & was 5 mins late because the tubes were really busy but they were lovely thank god! It's right in one of my favourite areas & the weather was fabulous so afterwards I went for a wander around Oxford Street & had an ice cream smile.gif

Sounds like a good afternoon! I got the 5:10am train out of Nottingham and got to the station at 4:45am and thought i was going to get murdered! There was shouting coming from one of the toilets and nobody was about to go in to investigate...

Needless to say, arrival in London was better

Just had a thought as well, they said if i dont hear anything by Monday, it's all good. Well, Monday is a bank holiday and they surely wont be open

Yes I just realised that this morning! The lady at reception said that if I hadn't heard anything by the Friday (just gone) then the embassy would have my results by Monday but there's no post tomorrow is there? It also means a delay in them receiving my DS-2001 as I took everyone's advice on here & decided to send it after my medical results arrive.

Glad you got into London ok, early trains are not fun. I'm up in Leeds but stayed with family in Surrey on Tuesday night. It was about 45 minutes into Bond Street so not bad.

No theres no post tomorrow. I only just realised too because she said if i dont have a call by monday. Then i thought surely she wont be at work on monday to call anyway!

I sent my DS-2001 on the 15th and it arrived on the 16th but i put my medical date as the 30th but then i got a cancellation and it was the 23rd instead. I havent bothered correcting it because i figured they would get the medical results before any letter i send to them. Still no interview letter! Im hoping i get that next week sometime after they get my results.

Ive still got a massive bruise from the blood test!

Me too! My arm hurt for about 4 days! I was actually surprised but I'd also not had a blood test in years so forgotten that it hurt so much. When I was doing normal stuff around the house, I'd forget about the little wound & then go "OUCH!" lol unsure.gif

So I called Knightsbridge this morning to see if they had sent my results to the embassy. As I figured, they sent them off on Tuesday as it was Bank Holiday on Monday & they said it's now too late to amend them unsure.gif She said it's not impossible but requesting my form back from the embassy is very time consuming & will slow down my entire application process. For those of you that haven't read my story in the other thread, I was required to retake tetanus again to meet US requirements but they told me to just go back to my own GP & that it would be absolutely fine. I took their word for it & now my form says my immunisation records are incomplete unsure.gif Obviously this form is now useless to me for AOS & I will have to find a civil surgeon in the US & pay to have him sign off a new form for me.

I told the receptionist at Knightsbridge that I would have just paid to have the tetanus done there if I'd known my NHS records would be disregarded in the US. She said they had no idea about this (I'm sure I am not the first person that this has happened to who phoned up to complain!) she wanted to get me off the phone as soon as possible & didn't want to take any responsibility for giving misleading information. Shocking how much nicer they are when you're handing over £227....she said she would verify what I had said with her manager & would call me back. I got the impression I wouldn't be receiving a call at all but thankfully she phoned back a while ago & said the only other thing I could do was take my immunisation records to my interview & explain what happened to see if they would accept them. I don't think this is an issue for the officer at my interview to be dealing with is it? Because issuing the K1 doesn't depend on my immunisation history, it's purely for AOS? Help & advice please...

Soooooooooooooo I had my Medical Exam today at Knightsbridge Doctors at 10:50 am! Got there very easily for the fact that I live in Lancaster Gate 10 minute ride by bus or 20 walking tops.

The outside of building is under construction so you cannot see it and the main door look more like a block of flats than anything else...

Once inside was greeted by this chat girl named Jade that straight away asked me for all documents necessary and to fill up another medical form apparently The Official One!

Went to next room were you are not allowed to use your phone or any electric devise but was this guy talking to the whole world non-stop and this cute little girl on her fathers Ipad playing all sorts of games and music....Thanks for reading the sign people! :bonk:

Well after 15 minutes I was called to get my X-ray lovely lady introduced herself and asked me to strip my shirt off and go to the awkward position that everybody mentioned and said... "Breath and hold your chest against the panel don't move and after a second Release the air now!" :wow: That was difficult!! Done... looking good she said...Well Never smoked my whole life!Looking pretty.

Back again to the sitting room with that cute little blazing the place with her dad's Ipad and Mr.Important gone by that time...Thanks God!

Suddenly this Lady walk into the room and say to the girl's father. We are closing at 12:00 for lunch and you could come after lunch to get some fax or to make sure that some fax was sent by his GP. OKAY and what about me? is already 11:50 and no blood text no medical exam...suddenly this Lady stick her face by the door and call my name! Thanks Jesus...No! honestly... Why Jesus,Why me?

This Doctor get me inside her office and in a flash of light first asked:Why are you here?second:Why do you want to go to the US and third all the question on that second form The Official One...and I'm thinking so far so good..Next...Take your clothes keep your underwear jump in the scale let me take your measure! Amazing speed...Super!

Seat in the bed open your mouth..good...lay in the bed let check you Bits and bobs!Okayyyyyyyy...seatdown Blood pressure time! NOT GOOD...:crying: :crying: WHAT??? Yes 15/10! WHAT? Sorry you need to go back to your GP get some monitoring and take some medicine! Please cancel your interview until your GP get this controlled!WHAT? Time to step in and open my mouth..It's lunch time and this women is hungry and rushing things!! Madam could you take another reading? No it's not necessary!WHAT? were in the world you are take just one reading in a blood pressure check up!

I tried to explain that a few years ago I done all the texts regarding my heart and blood pleasure...24 hour monitoring at St Mary's Hospital,ECG,Heart Scan bla.bla.bla.bla.!But this woman is HUNGRY!So she said..Sir this is serious and you don't want to risk loosing your visa! Who me? Nooooooooooo way!

Got out there went straight to my GP that gently jumped 3 patients just to see me...after explaining to her the situation on the phone...Got all the print out records regarding my blood pressure since 2006 plus records from St Mary's Hospital of all my exams...rushed back to Knightsbridge Doctors...This time is when JADE! Yes Jade came into my rescue..she took all my GP records and photocopy and said ..MR XZY don't worry I will pass this to the Doc and she should get back to you with some news if NOT I will call you myself! One hour later ....Jade on the phone ..Good News! Everything looking good...Heading to the Embassy soon.

First if you see some crack nut guy talking in that room on the phone tell them to SHUT UP...and if is a KID do it the same!

Second don't let the doctor rush things just because is LUNCH time! 150/110 and just one reading? my GP was laughing at this..Only one reading is not right.

Third and most...Say Thanks again to Jade from me Benuk! Love you Jade.

Had my medial appointment at Knightsbridge yesterday as well, and I have to say, I'm far from happy.

Got there with plenty of time to spare, had my chest x-ray done by a very nice lady, then waited again for my examination. Well, to call it an examination would be a bit of a joke really - I have never seen a doctor so eager to get someone out the door as quickly as possible. I must have been in there no longer than five minutes in total, which included the medical questions, physical examination, height-weight checking, and blood test. During the questionnaire I told her about an operation I underwent around six years ago in response to her question of "anything else she should know about". Honestly, I wish I hadn't bothered. She told me quite firmly that she wouldn't send any of my medical information along until I had my GP send her a full report on the operation, including diagnosis and aftercare. When I told her that my interview date was scheduled for next Tuesday (the 2nd), she couldn't have cared less if she tried, telling me I'd just have to reschedule it. To sum up just how apathetic she was to the whole process, she didn't even check my weight, she just asked me to read off the scales when I stood on them! I could have said anything and she wouldn't have known any different.

To add insult to injury, when she sent me out to the waiting room for the next part (vaccinations), no more than 60 seconds had passed when I saw her walk out of the office with her coat and bags, heading home! At this point I was fuming - I was paying £300 for this?

If Jade at reception hadn't been as reassuring as she was (and the lovely lady who does the vaccinations as well) then I would have formally complained, and to be honest I'm still quite tempted to. Absolutely hideous service from just one member of staff there.

I've now had to rush down to my GP first thing this morning and practically beg the receptionist to have him fax through the report either today or tomorrow in order to try and get it all ready for my interview. Thankfully I was told by someone slightly more helpful (and humane) than the examining doctor that even if the results don't get couriered to the embassy in time for Tuesday then the interview will still go ahead, and they'll just delay sending me the visa itself until they receive the results. I was advised to contact the embassy as well to let them know about this, which explains the other thread looking for an email address...

Sorry, bit of a ramble, but I'm still angry about the whole experience. Someone who couldn't care less about such an important appointment just so she could grab her coat and bags and shoot off as quickly as possible. Sigh...

Wow did you both have the same doctor?! She sounds horrible!

Benuk, what a pathetic excuse that doctor gave, they should always take it more than once if its not ok. For a start, asking somebody to strip in front of a stranger is bound to make anybodies blood pressure go up!

Davidwatsoncov, I agree with you on complaining, if that had happened to me they would have heard more from me after all of that money. Jade was very helpful to me over the phone too, i didnt have many dealings with her once i got there but she seems to be getting more famous online!
