Hello everyone, my wife came in k-1 visa and we got married and all that good stuff. We filled for green card and work permit together. She did her fingerprint on may 14th. I still haven’t heard anything from uscis after that and the lawyer isn’t that helpful. The screen is stuck on “show fingerprint has been taken”. The people who did it days after her already got their work permit but we haven’t gotten any yet. Does anyone know why this is happening? The uscis website keep telling fingerprint taken but nothing else

Does her receipt number begin with IOE or MSC?

I though it might because of the status showing “show fingerprint has been taken”. For whatever reason, and this is not set in stone or an absolute truth, all the reading and researching I have been doing since starting this journey shows that MSC cases seem to take a bit longer than IOE. Like I said, a lot of this is anecdotal and from reading other's accounts of their timelines. Don't sweat it too much, it will happen soon enough! :)

Frustrating as it is, they don’t processes stuff on a first come, first served basis. I know it feels like they should, but they just don’t. It will happen soon enough. Good luck! :)

You do see odd cases where EAD is approved very quickly, but do not think it is normal.
