Need some help!

We had our interview and we were placed in 221g because of two civil documents they requested.  We obtained the documents, and are ready to mail them in, but the 221g says to also upload scans of the documents at the ceac.state.gov website.

To login there you need your INVOICE ID NUMBER.  This number is listed on the "Welcome Letter" which we never received.  I sent a public inquiry to NVC asking for this number and they directed me to ask the embassy.

Anyone had luck getting the INVOICE ID NUMBER and know how it can be obtained?  We will mail in the original documents to USEM, but if the docs are not also scanned and uploaded with they put a hold on our visa issuance?

Is this a K-1 Case? I ask because your timeline is blank and I don't know what case you filed. If it is a K-1 case, you do not have an invoice number. They are not issued to nonimmigrant visa applicants. You will just mail the documents back in according to the instructions. The "invoice number" part of the notice is in there because they give the same paper to immigrant and nonimmigrant (K-1) visa applicants that get 221g refusals. If you want you can put a note in with your mailed in reply saying something like, "Here is the 221g response. We were unable to upload scans of the documents to the CEAC portal because, as a K-1 visa applicant, we were not issued an invoice number."

Yes this is for a K1 Visa.  We had the interview on 5-13-25, my fiance was given the "two pamphlets" and the 221g and asked to send back the two civil documents requested along with her passport.

Are you sure about this?  "Here is the 221g response. We were unable to upload scans of the documents to the CEAC portal because, as a K-1 visa applicant, we were not issued an invoice number."

I have looked everywhere for the Invoice ID Number and it seems it is listed on the "welcome letter".

There is no invoice number for K-1 cases. I am 100% sure.   Maybe you can email the documents to the consulate.

I am 1000% sure of this... Invoice numbers are only issued by NVC to immigrant visa applicants. Since the K-1 is a nonimmigrant visa, there is no invoice number issued. This is because you do not upload documents to CEAC as a K-1 applicant because they do not documentary qualify you. That is done by the embassy. No invoice number and no uploading docs to CEAC
