Hello all,

I'm the US citizen/sponsor for my wife's green card and I moved since the original application, which was approved in January. I recently moved and look up information online about how to update her US address and did so via this USCIS page about two months ago: https://my.uscis.gov/accounts/change-of-address/start/overview I haven't received any notifications and she's arriving to the US in 2 weeks. I just submitted another change of address notification on that same page and when I click on the "View your Change of Address submissions" it still shows the "you currently have no submissions".

I'm a bit concerned because not only I know permanent residents need to update their address with USCIS but also she will receive her SSN card and physical green card via mail. Would anyone know if I just followed the right process or not? Anything else I need to do?

Thanks!!

If this is for an IR-1/CR-1 visa, have her update the address with the Customs and Border Protection Officer that does her inspection at the Port of Entry.

Thanks, yes it's for an IR-1 visa.

Perfect, is that it then? That would be great and very simple 👍🏻

Just curious... what account did you use to do the address change on the USCIS site? I had to change mine after I submitted the I-129F for Jaycel and I got an email from USCIS-CaseStatus@dhs.gov with confirmation an an AR-11 receipt number that started with COA and a service request number on it. Did you do the change of address based on the I-130 petition or something?

I used the account I submitted my 1st notification at https://my.uscis.gov/accounts/change-of-address/start/overview

Like so many other things regarding this whole process, the information on what and how to do things is all over the place and confusing :(

This is very true.... You really have to become an A+ student on these processes to DIY :)

So you used the account you used to file the I-130? If so then the best bet is to do as I suggested above and have her report the new address to the CBP officer at the Port of Entry

Lol yes, we slowly all become mini-experts here after years on this forum

I didn't do it on the original I-130 because I believe I tried that at first and didn't see any options to change/update the address and then found another recommendation online

Ok so if you did not get a confirmation then doing it at the PoE is the best bet. Just be sure to have her advise the CBP officer that there is going to be an address change as soon as she reaches the booth for inspection.

Perfect, thanks. I also added her to my new lease and she'll print a copy just in case they need verification
