Hi HappyPlace,

No I haven’t heard back yet. It’s been almost 10 weeks now since our notice of readiness was sent in. We have emailed the two email addresses and our lawyer has also emailed but we haven’t received anything other than automated responses.
By instructions email do you mean the one with medical/police report instructions or the instructions for scheduling the interview after you submitted the notice of readiness?
I agree it’s been very frustrating and we also feel like we’re in limbo.

Yes, The one with the medical/police report instructions. If it does not have any applicant specific information, do you mind sharing it? So we can have an idea of what we have to get in order since it looks like they take ages to reply.

Hi,

Unfortunately we haven’t heard anything from them either. We emailed them at the start of this week with our NOR & I assumed that it would take a couple of days for a response. Though it’s been since the start of April since we’ve had any contact with them after we notified them of the medical appointment. My fiancé is going to attempt calling them for a status update. If we’re unlucky with that we’ll resort to another email.

My fiance went for his medical this week (a day before the embassy contacted us). But the email from the embassy stated that we need to send them the date for the medical when we book it. I really hope we haven’t made a mistake by doing the medical in advance. Was there any specific reason why they asked your fiancé to notify them of his medical date?🥺🥺

the K1 visa validity is based on the date of the medical exam, not the date of the interview.

the medical exam is only valid for 6 months. so if you do the medical too early, you could be put in a situation of having to rush to use the visa.

that is probably why they wanted to know the date of the medical before you attended it.

also so they know to expect the medical exam results to be sent to them

I tried calling and the only number I got through on went to the visa interview scheduling department. They said that I would have to wait until I was contacted with instructions to schedule an appointment and that there was no way to contact the immigration department other than by email. He also said they will read the email but probably won’t respond. And he also said he couldn’t give a timeline or any estimation as to when the interview would be.

That’s so frustrating! I would’ve expected a more efficient system for handling these processes by now. The first time we reached out, their quick response set an expectation, so it’s disappointing that it’s now taking much longer, especially when we’re so close to the final steps. I really hope they get back to you soon! I know it’s case by case, but I truly hope you're next in line for the interview. After 10 weeks of hard work, the waiting is discouraging, but I’m staying hopeful for you! Please keep us posted.

HappyPlace,

The instructions packet will provide detailed guidance for completing the DS-160 form, emphasizing the importance of accuracy and completeness. It will also include a list of required documents for your interview:

- Valid passpor
- Sealed medical exam
- Two passport-size color photos (5 cm × 5 cm or 2 in × 2 in, taken within the last six months)
- Confirmation page of the DS-160 form
- Birth certificate (long form) and a photocopy
- Divorce certificate (if applicable) and a photocopy
- Police certificates from Ireland and any country where you’ve lived for more than six months, including all names and aliases used
- Court/criminal records (if applicable) and a photocopy
- Military records (if applicable) and a photocopy
- Evidence of financial support (I-134 form) along with an IRS transcript or a copy of the most recent federal income tax return
- Official translations for any documents not in English

The packet will also include a list of approved medical locations and Notice of Readiness

I know it can be nerve-wracking to reach out, especially early on, but persistence is key. Don’t hesitate to email them to request the instructions packet until they do so you can move forward with the next steps. The sooner you have it, the better prepared you'll be!

I don’t think that’ll affect you. We didn’t get a response when we notified them of our date. Plus the notice of readiness states that it should be submitted when you have everything completed including the sealed medical report. We sent the NOR as soon as we found out the sealed packet was ready for pick up.

Thank you. This so helpful, we will keep reaching out to them.
also to confirm, the other names used doesn’t show up on the police certificate right? We just need to have it on the application form.

Cause the certificate had just his current names even though we put his other names used in the application form.

This is what the instructions provide.

Thanks, yeah I’m really hoping we hear from them soon. It’s the not knowing how long it will be that’s the hardest part.
For the police report, the first one they sent didn’t include my middle name as in my birth certificate so I asked for a new one and I’m going to bring both to the interview just in case.
I also don’t think the medical will be an issue for you as I also didn’t get a response when I told them the date it was scheduled for.

Thank you so much for clearing my worries. I really hope they respond to you soon.

I'm currently in the same boat whereby I've sent my notice of readiness May 2nd and resent it just in case as I got confused when they sent the automated email and the end stated: "1) Emails that do not include the correct information in the subject line (available on the navigator) will be automatically routed to an unmonitored mailbox and will NOT receive a response.
". It's so annoying because when you call the embassy number it only allows you to leave a voicemail but I haven't heard back. Anyone else hear back from the embassy after sending the notice of readiness yet?

My fiancé and I have not heard anything back either.

Hi,

just wondering if either of you has been able to get a response from the embassy. We got the instructions email from them yesterday but the actual instructions document wasn’t attached to the email, i replied the email immediately to let them know but no response yet. I feel like i’m in a limbo which is so frustrating. I will appreciate any insight you both can share on this issue.
Thank you.

Hi all,

just an update, we got a reply with the attachment very early this morning.

Has anyone also heard back from them? (Specifically about y’all Nors)?

Great to hear! I ended up sending my NOR again last week in case with a different subject line in case that makes a difference. To get a response did you have to include anything specific in the email subject line or no? Also, what was their response? I sent my NOR May 2nd and so uncertain whether it was even received

I replied the initial welcome email they sent. So the subject line was RE:U.S. Embassy Dublin - K1 Visa Application. They sent me the instruction attachment I requested(it wasn’t attached to their initial welcome email).
