help! (VSC)

Hey Everyone,

Haven't been on here since my wife Rosario got her 2-year conditional green card -- it came time to do the I-751 and we sent it to the VSC on July 31, 2007. (Her green card expires on 8/26/07). After two weeks there was no sign of a return receipt from the post office, and the certified tracking # did not even show that it arrived in Vermont. I went down to the post office and talked to the supervisor -- he got on the phone and confirmed that the package _had_ arrived in Vermont, but no one signed for it. The post office up there said they get over 2,000 pieces of mail to the VSC per day, so they couldn't be blamed. He said in all likelihood, it _did_ get there.

But how can I be sure? I called the 800# and they made it clear I would have to wait 30 days before they could tell me if it was being processed or not. By that time, it will be too late to send another I-751 because Rosario's green card will be past the 3 month window.

So what do I do? How are other people's I-751 response times for the VSC right now?

Also you did include the higher fee for I-751? $545 new fee starting July 30

No check cashed -- does that occur within the first few weeks? And no, I didn't include a new fee -- I'm hoping you're kidding about that part. I used the updated form on the website and included the fee stated on that form. Please tell me you're kidding. I'd forgotten how labyrinthine this process is.

Check this new fee site, posted by Visa Journey. It took effect July 30th you will find the amount you have to pay for I-751. It is $545 (Biometrics included). We just missed the deadline by a few days, so we had to pay the new amount ..... You should have filed BEFORE july 30th to apply the old fee.

If not correct they will send you your package back and you have to resend everything.

Also make sure you always use they updated VERSION of the form that you find on THEIR site under immigration forms.

DO NOT WAIT for the packet to be sent back to you...... send of a new packet and include a check for the new amount $545.00....

It could take weeks for them to return the packet...
