hello friends. I have been married for over 3 years. i still hold the conditional green card. I entered this marriage in good faith but my wife has become the person i did not marry. I have been facing mental abuse on the hands of her and her family. I still have no intentions of leaving my wife because I do love her a lot and I know she is just being influenced by her family members. I am still hopeful that she will get back to her senses and work with me to save our marriage.

However, leaving the emotions aside I want to know what are my options if she chooses not to be with me. my conditional green card expires in Feb 2008.

Part of me is just fed up with everything and I just want to leave everything and go back to my home country. But I have invested a lot of time and energy in getting my education here and I can't leave all this either. My wife has even physical abused me- in the hopes that I will retaliate back and hit her and she can call the police on me and get me deported. I have been nothing but a faithful and caring husband to her.

i can't open my heart and show so the only proof that I entered this marriage with good intentions are:

Marriage certificate, wedding albums, the income returns, our joint cellphone account, my health coverage under her job benefits, sharing the same residence(even though it belongs to her parents)

Please help. I am desperate.

So sorry to hear of your situation I am not to sure what to advise you BUT one thing i would say is never put up with any type of abuse from anybody, including your wife you say she has physically abused you, that right there is the reason i for one would leave.

Good Luck.

I'm going to butt in here and say, if she is physically abusing you, YOU have the same rights that she does. You can contact the police and file for domestic violence against HER. I'm sure that others can help past that but I think that I've read that if there are some type of instances dealing with abuse there are steps to follow to assist you. Make sure that you get it documented with the local police department if she is abusing you... I'm so sorry for you and wish you luck!

I have finally met my love and my best friend... I can't thank God enough for this gift! After spending 17 days in Ghana with my love, I am even more consumed by him and all that he is.

yeah i know I could do that but my upbringing doesn't allow me to abuse women, especially my wife. Also, i am over 6 feet tall... and she is mere 5-3 tall. its going to be her word against mine.

Can you file to remove conditions on your own while you are separated.

You can get divorced and file on your own, with a waiver. You don't need to wait till Feb 2008, or the 90 day period preceding it.

As soon as you get the decree, you can prepare your package and file it. Have you taken a look at the I-751?
