We just want to have the ceremony before going to the US because it might take a long time for us to be able to travel back to RP to have the ceremony for my family...this needs thorough discussion between me and my fiance....thank you everyone for the insights...we will be inviting only a few friends and family in case we opt to hav the ceremony (crabs not allowed :) ), and there wil be no paper signing etc. Good luck everyone and thank u again. We'l post updates about our decision..:)

08-08-08 - Filed AOS with EAD and AP
08-18-08 - NOA for EAD,AP and AOS
08-21-08 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter
09-09-08 - Biometrics Appointment 10am Kansas City
09-18-08 - I-485 transferred to CSC (got an email from USCIS)
10-07-08 - EAD Touched
10-19-08 - My birthday / Found out I am Pregnant!
10-22-08 - Grief, Pain, Sadness
11-06-08 - EAD card ordered; AP approved (USCIS website)
01-16-09 - AOS Touched
02-23-09 - Green Card (conditional) and welcome letter received in the mail
02-24-09 - Got the job in boyce and bynum lab

One good option is to have the ceremony/celebration after the visa is in hand. Then it's a nice farewell party too.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

yes..that is a good suggestion..we are considering that one :) we only thought it will be a celebration but that would do as a farewell party too :)

There are a LOT of people that have a ceremonial wedding. As long as it is completely UNOFFICIAL and not recorded in any government (foreign or domestic) office you should be fine. I would also highly suggest to keep this information within the family! :yes:
