I filed on 10/28/2024 for my mom and on 11/2/2024 for my dad. My dad's timeline was much longer from day one. At one point, my mom's date went to zero and the status was something like "your case is taking longer than expected, but within normal timeframes", and dad's case was like 7 months until decision. Just checked now, and as of right now my mom's case says 9 months until decision, my dad's says 19 months. Did this happen to anyone else? The timelines extended by so much, not sure what to attribute this to... Per receipt notice, both cases are in Texas Service Center.

MyProgress estimates cannot be trusted. On day of my oath, MyProgress predicted 3 weeks until decision on my case, which was nonsense.

Ignore it completely, as @OldUser said it’s not accurate.

Thank you both.

A separate question, is there a way to sync their timelines? If my mom gets approved soon and my dad is still months away, she won't leave without him as they are both in late 70s and can only live together.

If one gets approved first, just don't start the visa application until the other is approved. And then once they're both DQ'ed you can contact NVC and ask for their cases to be linked and them to be interviewed together.

Good luck.
