I had many solicited updates (like senator follow up or contacting consulate directly), but I never had an unsolicited update which can be an indication of progress.

I hope your case gets concluded soon. It is a hard pill to swallow to wait this long in the very last step.

Hi @OntarkieCan you please tell me how can I transfer my vehicle through train or truck to USA. Please inform me about the procedure. Secondly my kids status right now is follow to join, so how can I apply for them to move to USA. Can they go with me over there and in the process of getting immigration or they have to stay here while there immigration is getting done.
thank you

For the kids they can visit. Contact the Consulate to let them know you want to start the process for the kids. They will instruct you. I do not know much about the EB process so you would have better luck asking in that thread.

For car import since you want to go by truck/train you should contact a car import company. I didn't import my car so I do not know more than that.

Any idea of how many unsolicited updates usually received before a case is finalized (gets out of refusal state)?

My interview was on September last year and I got the first unsolicited update on my case 10 days ago.

There are some posts in the earlier pages that share the dates when they had updates. I don't think there's a set formula for this. I got a couple updates around the same time as yours. Let's hope it means something is happening.

I've actually lost my hope and moved on with my life tbh since my case is the worst of the worst, I've got a phd in AI & Robotics (TAL), I was born in Iran, and Trump is in the office.

My son keeps checking the file status...

It's good that you're not putting all your eggs in one basket but I think you're going to be approved sooner or later. Everybody in this thread has reasons, mainly out of their control, to have been put in AP, some of which are the same as yours.

I haven't lost hope yet, but looks like it will take a long time. I am also in a field listed in TAL and born in Iran. Been in AP since Jan 2025. I am preparing to wait for another year at least ...

@Coco_2023 Unfortunately, the situation for some nationalities and non- marriage cases like EB1 and 2 and NIW, will be tougher. Even if a visa is granted, border agent can refuse the entry at the border. The only thing to do is to wait until decision is made by the embassy. it is also good to see people like @AnnaSalu also encourage waiting and hoping instead of teasing people to file a suit against embassy like what they did in the other forum while they were waiting for interview appointment.

I got an email confirmation for my June 25th interview at the Montreal consulate, but it seems like there's a link to DS 5535 at the bottom of the email calling it a 'supplemental questionnaire', and it was in a string of emails they sent and recalled. I can't find any information anywhere about DS 5535 being requested this way before the interview. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, they did this before my appointment in January as well. They will not start AP before your appointment though.

Tysm for the answer, I appreciate that a lot, what a uniquely horrible situation to be in 💀I am sure we just.. all want to be home with our loved ones, or carrying on with our lives etc. What made it more confusing is I received 3 emails, including a redaction, and then I had no idea if they correctly resent the email 🫠
