Your process of deductive reason has taken a long vacation to Mars. I suggest you do an ET and phone it home.

Another great response from you. Do you offer classes on how to become as smart as you?

You should write to that Ivy League School of yours and ask for your money back.

your just so 'smart' and witty.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Well someone has to have a sense of humour around here. It obviously isn't you.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I do not have a problem with most but have always thought Steve was a looser. I have already offered to meet up and discuss our differences in person..

You should come over to LA some time...spend at least a week here, try to food first hand and experience the different cultures...I'm sure you'll have a different perspective about a lot of things.

That is a very good point. However, those men that go to other countries are not illegal immigrants. They are passport holders often on business trips ;)

The difference is this guy from Peru may have a passport but isn't going to be getting any Visa to come to the US. Especially not if he's the "looking for a better life" type that we assume he was-there's no "get a better life" visa so of course he was here illegally. His status is incidental.

That's my whole point-he came here to commit crimes. I wish they would just keep that in their own country (since there's really no point in wishing that they won't commit crimes).

As I recall, you suggested that you would discuss those differences 'in the street'...

Heina, you know what they say about wishing? In the story it says he had a fake s.s. #.

No I think VJTroll, who stated that, probably read something/heard something that the shooting itself might be linked to MS13. But until that is confirmed, I would take everything with a grain of salt. We are getting all kinds of stuff here on local news about it right now that people might not be getting nationally.

If the guy didn't have a visa, than his passport doesn't matter. He entered illegally and that is why he is being called an illegal immigrant. What I am saying to you is that the US citizens that you mentioned that go to other countries to molest little girls, for example, are often business men on business trips. That has historically, (seems 10 years or so) been the attraction of places like thailand to many business men from places like the US. But they are not illegal immigrants. They enter a country legally to do so. It doesn't make it right but it is possible that this guy didn't come in for a specific purpose. Instead of speculating we should be waiting to hear it first hand from the police. Once again, you have NO CLUE why he came into this country, you are merely making an assumption.

And Smoke20, I will hand you some binnoculars and you can go to the borders and patrol yourself. If you are going to be an advocate, you might as well actually do something about it rather then sitting around a computer telling people you are the new poster boy for such things.

Again...immigrants taking out frustrating on other immigrants. A lot of US born citizens look at illegals and immigrants with the same eyes. Before you(general "you") are so quick to jump the gun and start blaming illegal immigrants for mass murders and other crimes, we should really take a look at ourselves and realize that we, too, are immigrants. Any one get data on crime by illegal immigrants? How about we start with that.

The thing is how did he get through customs using a passport? Was a visa issued? Was a background check conducted? But I understand that in a lot of countries authorities can be bribed. Therefore any checks are useless.

Why was he not deported after the first crime? That is after being convicted of raping a kid..

He is not the only one to blame. What are the police commissioners, the mayor etc doing in those cities?

All good questions that I have asked myself. IT is possible he slipped through a portion of the border that wasn't being watched or just ran through without being caught. Who knows.

I don't know how true the conviction of raping a child is. I haven't heard anything about that in the paper yet or in the news so I wouldn't take that article as fact. The OP gave an story from Fox News and we all know how correct they can be :P If he was convicted in the US, he would have been in jail then deported. If he was convicted in Peru, he got here somehow illegally so either the background was not flagged or like I say, he got across somehow without being noticed.

As far as what the police commissioners are doing in these cities, it has nothing to do with him. If he was convicted of the crime in the US, we should be talking about the legal system, not the police. Also, if he committed this rape, where did that take place? Lots of questions that have to be answered.

And like 6 saying, in Newark they are trying to combat A LOT Of stuff against TONS of odds! They don't have that much cash to sort of some of the problems but they can try. There is only so much the police can do. My husband tells me this has been Newark since the day he was born. A typical cop can only do so much.
