I'm totally confused about this process. I figured we wouldn't be receiving anything about the AOS since we went through DORA, even though I was told they just send it to the Chicago lockbox as well. Should we receive something saying that they are processing anything? I'd like to keep track, but have nothing to look at. Our interview date for the Dora thing was July 19th. Thanks

April 21 Dave arrives in America!

April 28 WE GET MARRIED!!!

May 9 Went to SS office and was denied

May 15 After gathering all paperwork, told we must file through DORA program

July 19 DORA appointment - they send paperwork to Chicago after this.

July 24 Paperwork is received by Chicago

August 9 Notice for Biometrics appointment

August 28 NOAs for AOS/EAD

Sept 6 Biometrics

Sept 26 Email saying card production ordered for EAD.. YES!!!

Yes.... We got a NOA1 (Well, a letter of receipt) for both the AOS and EAD about 10-12 days after our DORA Interview.

I'm in the same boat. Nothing since the Biometrics letter went out. Not even a touch after the Biometrics interview.

My guess is that with all the last minute applications, the USCIS is just chock full right now.

BTW, our DORA Interview was at the beginning of June (June 7) - Although, I didn't get any notification about our stuff being sent to the Chicago Lockbox. We also filed for AOS and a EAD, but I guess our month headstart was what got our NOAs quickly (We have had no other update on either.) Also, remember that the EAD is processed differently than the AOS (Exactly how is a mystery - sorry).

Looks like we are just stuck waiting until they can digest all recent traffic.

We went through DORA AOS in Dallas in January. We too applied for EAD. We did receive NOA 1 for both the AOS and the EAD; however, we NEVER saw an update for the AOS or EAD online before it was approved ( apart from when biometrics were done). The AOS was approved right before the EAD ( took just shy of 90 days) and the only case status updates were for the biometrics.

It is my understanding that DORA AOS is processed at the DORA participating office ( where you had the interview). After they approve, the file is then sent to Missouri ( MSC? NBC?) I don't know exactly where, but our AO said Missouri; where card production is ordered and email sent out to you; and the file is stored. It may have changed; like I said, ours was in January at Dallas.

Hang on in there!

edit again  The EAD is processed completely apart from the DORA AOS!

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

I filed my AOS through DORA too and the whole process went quickly. Initially I filed my EAD along with AOS but was told at the time of the interview that this was optional since they are trying to process all AOS within 90 days. If they are unable to process within 90 days then they send you a letter to apply for an EAD.

My timeline for the AOS using DORA is as follows:

Dallas office Interview application of AOS: 4/25

Biometrics: 5/22

Green Card Recieved: 7/09

Thats 75 days.

Yeppers. you'll get an NOA just like you did in round 1 :) Then you'll get an appointment letter for Biometrics. Word of advice on biometrics: Make sure your fiance knows how to fill out forms on their own. I didnt know they werent going to let me in with Ahmed and he had to struggle though the translation on his own. Poor thing put his height down as 6'8" (he's not even 6') because he didnt understand the question or remember how to convert measurement.

Just want to say thanks for all the replies.

The guy doing our interview said they were getting rid of the DORA program, because it doesn't really work. He said if he were filing, he'd do the same with the EAD as its a kind of insurance. He also said that we didn't have to go through the DORA program, we could have sent in our items on our own. Which sucks, because we were going to send them in about May, then found out about the DORA program, thought we had to go that route, so waited until July 19th for our appointment. That's definitely pushing back Dave working a long ways. And I don't think that he'll really have that much trouble with translations, but I thought they basically just took fingerprints for the biometrics?
