Hello everyone,

I am writing to inquire about the status and next steps for my immigration case, and I’m hoping to get some input from those who might have experienced a similar situation. Here are the details:

  • Documentarily Qualified: All applicant documents were received and approved, and we were documentarily qualified as of August 23, 2023.

  • Interview Scheduled: We received an email on November 21, 2023, informing us that our interview was scheduled for January 22, 2024. We registered for the interview and completed the medical examination.

  • Interview Canceled: On December 18, 2023, we received an email stating that our interview was canceled and that we would be notified soon regarding a new date.

It has now been over six months since the cancellation, and we have not received any updates. There has been no progress on my case or my children's cases, and there are no new updates on the NVC website.

I’m seeking advice or insight from anyone who might have gone through a similar situation. Is there anything pending from our end that could be causing this delay? What should be our next steps? When can we expect further communication or rescheduling of our interview?

Thank you for any assistance or advice you can provide.

DCF means Direct Consular Filing. Have you tried emailing the consulate to inquire the status?

No, I haven't, and I'm not sure how to reach out to them. Can you please direct me or advise how I can reach out to them? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

DCF ... no clue what does it mean and how its impacting my application ?

As above, Direct Consular Filing - which is what your profile says, and would also explain how you got an interview so quickly.

If you aren't DCF then I think your interview may have been scheduled in error as it was much quicker than normal, so that may be why it was cancelled (when they realised their mistake). It's usually much longer than 3 months for a 'normal' case.

For contacting them to enquire, here are their details. https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/iv/information/contact_us

Good luck.
