  1. as some of you may know After submitting DS-260 & civil documents, I was DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED in August 2023. Received an email in November 2023 for an "Immigrant Visa Interview Appointment" scheduled for 22nd Jan 2024, but it was canceled a week before. No updates since then. Is this delay normal after interview cancellation? Should I contact NVC or wait? Appreciate any guidance. Thank you.
  2. Hope everyone is doing well. I have an unusual situation regarding my IR2 visa applications, and I'm curious if anyone has experienced something similar or has insights. Here's the scenario: I submitted three IR2 applications to the Montreal USA Embassy. On November 21, 2023, I received an email stating that the National Visa Center (NVC) had completed processing and scheduled visa interviews for two out of the three applications. All was seemingly on track. However, today, I received a new email stating, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time." I'm a bit puzzled, and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar situation or has any idea about the potential reasons behind such cancellations. Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
  3. I was born in the USA but moved to Pakistan at the age of 7 and later to Canada after getting married. Throughout my life, I've never worked and therefore never filed U.S. income taxes. Now, as a U.S. citizen, I'm sponsoring my husband for a family-based immigrant visa. How can I strengthen my case, considering my unique situation, especially when I don't have a Joint-sponsor for Form I-864? Any advice or experiences from similar situations would be greatly appreciated. Form I-130 has already been approved.
  4. I-130 application for my kids has been approved and before I move on to next step, I need some advice. As I have mentioned in my earlier post that I am a US citizen living as a homemaker in Canada with my husband and 3 Kids. I was born in the USA and later on moved to Pakistan when I was around 7 and then after getting married in 2008 moved to Canada with my spouse. I haven’t lived in the USA since the age of 7 therefore I don’t have any income in the USA. I have no connection in USA except for an uncle who has agreed to be a joint sponsor. According to the USA embassy website, " A child born outside of the United States to one U.S. citizen parent and one non-U.S. citizen parent may be entitled to citizenship providing the U.S. citizen parent had been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for five years, at least two years of which were after s/he reached the age of fourteen." I know to sponsor my husband I may have to move to USA to establish domicile. But do I need to establish USA domicile as a support to my kids application. Please advice what will be the best approach
  5. I submitted I-130 application for my son which just got approved and now my case is with National Visa Center, I have been living in Canada for last 14 years and for that reason I do not have any bank account in USA. Now I need to make payment to CEAC for further process. Can someone please advice how can I make payment to CEAC since I do not have any account in USA bank, and we aren’t allowed to make payments using credit card. Can we make payments from Canadian bank? Or from USD account in Canadian Bank. Following are some information from CEAC website about my application VISA CLASS: IR2 FOREIGN STATE OF CHARGEABILITY: CANADA INTERVIEW LOCATION: MONTREAL
