Went great, only issue was my vaccine waiver, she didn't see it and asked for my vaccines but when I said filed for a waiver it was in the online file she had so she said she had to review it later that day. Said she didn't see any issues with it going quickly over it so I could expect an update soon, sounded like I had been approved pending the waiver. Just checked my account and says 'Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered' lol, not sure what that means but hopefully something more later today!

I had mine yesterday as well, how did yours go?

Well, I was approved yesterday afternoon!!! :joy:

Detroit Field Officer was late by an hour (and we were there early to boot). The guards and office staff were very nice. When I checked in, I almost knocked the screen down that they used for photos. The lady thought I was super anxious, but really there were steps between my screen and the one beside it and I didn't navigate the space! Our FO seemed to be a new hire and really didn't know what she was doing which was incredibly stressful! My family based AOS (through my daughter-US Citizen) was treated more like a marriage interview which was really weird. She kept asking my daughter about marriages, divorces, and children she had. FO asked me if I was applying for my adult son at the same time (uh no....read the file!). FO had trouble finding documents in the file that I could see and she kept overlooking. I brought the mother of all binders filled with all my applications, documents, and everything under the sun which was a blessing (and highly recommend you do that!) since I was able to pull out numerous documents she couldn't find after 5-10 minutes of searching for each document through my entire file. FO didn't understand my I-693 which was paired with a I-601 waiver (waiver of vaccination requirement due to religious beliefs). She thought the presence of antibodies meant I had taken recent vaccinations. My daughter had to explain to her twice that exposure can produce antibodies. I don't think the FO had even peaked at my file prior to interview. Even though I could see each form in my file was tagged with color coded tags (form numbers written large enough for me to read), the FO insisted on thumbing through the ENTIRE file from last to first page for each document she was looking for (such as a marriage certificate, divorce decree, etc.). FO asked me EACH of the 86 questions on my I-485 and wanted to verify my answers. She mumbled when asking me the questions (had to ask her to repeat a number of the questions as neither my daughter or I could understand what she said and both me and my daughter are native English speakers!) and she didn't seem to understand what she was reading as she had to re-read a few questions aloud and ask the same question a few times as she was trying to get the wording right. Some of the questions she didn't understand and I had to explain what the question meant (for real). She had me re-sign one of the forms, but gave me a red pen. Then she realized her mistake and she gave me black one. She asked me to date the form October 25, and I asked her 3 times if she meant August, which she finally realized the date was August and October. Pretty sure she hasn't done too many of these finals. Was an utter nightmare to know my file was being handled by someone who didn't quite get the forms! We smiled, thanked her, and exercised extreme patience through the process. Thankfully, I was approved! May the rest of you have an easier interview and be approved quickly! (L)

Forgot to mention. FO didn't know how to read my TN visa which is how I legally entered the country and stayed and worked while waiting on my approval. Had to coach her through the documents so she understood I was here legally. Unbelievable!

I was approved as well today! For me 2 years without stress, 3 years until we can go for naturalization.

@Rose88 what a story! I got so lucky with my field officer—she was incredibly kind and professional! Despite the stress I put myself through, the whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The consulate, CBP officers, and USCIS Field Office all made it a smooth process. It took a bit longer than I expected, but that was just me being overly optimistic. Sorry to hear your experience was so tough. I noticed you had a vaccine waiver too—did you need a medical exam in the US? Is that why you had an I-693?

CONGRATS!!! With most of the stories I've heard, people have had great field officers. I think mine was just new to the game. I was already living in the US (working on a visa), so I needed to complete the I-693 (completed in the US at a location near me) along with my I-485. Given that I did the vaccine waiver made this form also necessary to show that I didn't have any health conditions that would make me inadmissible on health-related grounds.
