You should be able to see the interview notice in the documents tab for the I-485 on the portal

If I had a documents tab! Filed through the lockbox so no document tab file for me. Mildly irritating  Should be here within about 5 days.

Everybody files I-485 by mail. You should receive code to add case online in the mail, as far as I know.

No, I think that's only when you give permission with the electronic form you fill in and send with it. As far as I know, that means your file will be made electronic and accessible to more agents, hence why quicker and why you can upload stuff. I didn't want that, too much personal information in the file for me to have it made electronic. So those who do not send that in get the msc number. Meaning that it's physically sitting on someone's desk until they pick it up to look in it.

I did add my case online. Still no documents tab. Not getting email/text notices either though I filled out Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance for each of my forms. Not sure why some get the documents tab and others don't!

Yes.... MSC cases are not in the ELIS system and you would not have received an online access code and you can't manage your cases online unfortunately.

This is only to receive texts/e-mails about the acceptance of your forms. They will send you no more communications about your case based on this form. It's a one & done notification.

Well I guess that just adds to the excitement of not knowing until it happens and you get a physical document  (honestly...I'd rather know, but it is what it is! LOL)

I didn't even get that! Maybe they forgot to process those forms.

Even the initial one is hit or miss.... Probably a 30% failure rate on those. But hey, it's a government agency so a 30% failure rate means they are out-performing most other agencies

Just got my Interview Notice in mail today...scheduled for 08/25/25 in the am at the Detroit FO which apparently has moved from Detroit to Troy as of last summer. Had to look it up! Definitely not as close to home as the old address, but I will take the interview!
