Hi everyone,

On the app I have on my phone, I was notified I'd get mail today with a picture of what I would receive.  And one of the envelopes was the letter from the frankfurt consulate.

Unfortunately,  they had a wonky way of putting my address on it, and it was never put in my mailbox today. Even worse... the app doesn't even show the envelope anymore! 😨

Can someone please put my mind at ease and tell me what to do if that letter never reaches me? I fear the address confused them and they just didn't deliver it.

you could try contacting the frankfurt embassy via email and explain the situation

they may be able to email you what the packet contained (which if i remember correctly was just a letter saying to complete/submit the ds-160, pay the visa fee, a previous address form to fill out, and a copy of the approved I-129f. it also had some instructions as far as what to bring to the interview.)

or they may ask you to wait another day or so to see if it will show up.
or you could try contacting whichever postal service was delivering it and see if it is something you can go pick up from one of their locations.

Thank you, I did contact the mail service here in the netherlands,  and they just said wait a week. The thing is the letter popped up a few days ago as well, and then it didn't reach me either. I think contacting the consulate is my best option.

I did find an email address, but I have no idea if it's the correct one (frankfurtvisainquiries@state.gov) is this the correct mail for an issue like this?

It's the mail I found in a letter online, where it states to mail the confirmation page to them.

Do you think I could just go ahead and do the DS-160, mail them the confirmation page and in same mail request for the packet 3 info?

I was so happy when I learned the letter was on its way and now I'm just nervous 😅😅 the whole process is confusing and stressful as is🙈

that is the correct email

the frankfurt embassy has a google form they use that tells you what to put in the subject line of the email, so it gets to the right place

https://tinyurl.com/FrankfurtVisas (if you use this form, make sure you pick the option for immigrant visa. it does make a difference for what goes in the subject line and body of the email)

when my fiance emailed them about getting the information from the packet 3 letter just emailed to him, they told him to wait until he received the physical letter.
But if you explain to them you believe it got lost in the mail, they might email it to you.

the DS-160 is good for a year after filling it out and submitting it. so you could technically fill it out and submit it now.
but I would try emailing them for the packet 3 info first before emailing them the DS-160 confirmation.
As my fiance likes to say, people in Germany like their paperwork, so they probably want things to go in order 🤣

I tried to keep my mail as short as possible, assuming they rather don't read essays 😅

For now I need to let this go. Nothing to be done at this time of night 🙈

Thank you for your help.

I really hope this works.

Does packet 3 also contain the letter that needs to be brought to the interview?

I found a letter with the checklist online, bit it's from 2022. So im not sure how accurate this still is.

I don't believe there was a specific letter that needed to be brought to the interview.

There was the letter explaining what needed to be brought/how to submit the ds-160 confirmation, a copy of the approved i-129f, and a form to fill out of all previous addresses from the age of 16.

And a domestic violence information pamphlet

Alright, so that means that form, letter, whatever it was that needs to be taken to interview is packet 4, which I already learned is going to be an E-mail.  🤔

Here's hoping my mail gets delivered tomorrow or Tuesday. The list of what needs to be collected I already found.

I'm nervous and sad 🤣 I wanted that letter!!

Thanks again for your information

My mail sadly still has not arrived and the consulate has not (yet) responded to my questions.

I went ahead and signed and submitted the DS-160.

I have looked online for the list of required documents to take with me to the interview, but I have found 2 different ones, both from the consulate in Frankfurt,  but different dates on which they were issued (2021 and 2022) they both give different information! 🥴

Assuming the one from 2021 is no longer  used when the one from 2022 was made, I'd say stick to that info, however 😅😅 what if they since then made a new one??

Does anyone know what the consulate specific instructions are for Frankfurt these days?

Does anyone here know if I do need to email this confirmation page to the consulate? If so, what do I put in the subject line? In the 2022 letter it says I22 - and then the FRN casenumber. Is it now I24 because it's the year 2024?😅😅

At this point I stopped hoping my packet 3 will just arrive late, I have accepted I will not get it at all. 😕 this is not a full stop to the process... just more hoops to jump to get where I wanna be.

Please, anyone. Help.

I have indeed looked in the consulate info on this website, but the included links to websites aren't working.

Apparently a form is Included to list your addresses since age 16?

Also a form is included to request your appointment?

Can I download this somewhere?

Of all mail of course packet 3 had to get lost 🙄 I don't know if I should feel sad or angry or both, but I do know it don't help me, that's why I come here🤭

the packet my fiance got was pretty big and had a lot of stuff.

but this is the portion that you're referring to.

the subject for the email is I22. has something to do with what department to email is routed to, not the year itself.

There is a form included to list your addresses since 16.

there is not a form to fill out and mail to request an interview appointment. that is all done online and you get that information once you email them the DS-160 confirmation.

some of the information on the frankfurt consulate page on this site is not up to date from what I can tell. It says to mail to documents to the office, you no longer do that. everything is brought with you to the interview.

Thank you again!

This form to fill out addresses since age 16, is this personalized? Like does it have personal info on it already so that it cannot be found online?

that form doesn't have any personal information pre-filled out at all. but it isn't like... a "government form" so to speak. it doesn't have any form number associated with it.

looks like it is just something that someone typed up themselves. looks like this basically:

Please also complete this page and submit it on the day of your visa interview:

Family Name                                                        First Name                                                                    Middle Name

ALL other Names used or Aliases (if married women, please give maiden name)

Full Name in Native Alphabet (if Roman letters not used)

List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Being with you present residence:

City or Town                                                Province             Country                                                    From/To (mm-yyyy)

Oh my, you typed all of that out?  😱

I copy pasted it, and will use it as a layout for listing my addresses.

I'm also happy that has to be brought to interview,  instead of having to send it somewhere 😂

Thank you so so much for your help again!😊 time to calm my nerves so i will be able to sleep tonight 😂
